Senior Procurement Manager

Reporting to the Senior Director Global Ingredients, this role will lead the strategic sourcing activities of ingredients categories including flavors, colors, functional, softs materials etc. This role will develop the procurement strategy for the categories by understanding markets, ensuring long-term supply, optimizing delivered costs, management of risk & opportunities in commodity markets and building positive supplier relations. Leading a team of two, Manager and analyst to execute Category strategy & drive supplier performance improvement while adding greater value to KDP bottom line.

Responsibilities:

Develop Sourcing Strategy in conjunction with key business partners to address and meet business needs.In conjunction with the business key stakeholders, initiate, direct, and conduct all activities relating to negotiating, evaluating, selecting, and implementing preferred supplier contracts. Conduct industry deep dive analysis to provide proactive insight to sourcing strategy.Develop & refine the procurement processes to minimize efforts & maximize benefits through compliance & specification controls.Define best sourcing procurement process e.g., Traditional RFQ/RFP/RFI, on-line Auction, Collaborative sourcing, multi-event negotiations, etc.Negotiate and develop long-term relationships with strategic suppliers.Develop risk management strategies to minimize risk and maximize opportunity on pricing and sourcing plans.Work closely with our partners in Keurig Trading team to monitor markets ongoing and report impact to business where appropriate. Identify, develop, and execute the best fit supply chain for delivery of ingredients categories to our locations, with specific focus on the US and extension to other regions.Establish & maintain a master contract management system for all spends within scope.RFP DevelopmentIdentify preferred supplier pool.Supplier performance managementNegotiations skills & execution managementLegal Contracting & contract administrationEnsure governance to company and SAP rules to implement supplier NDA’s, Contracts, etc. in both Cornerstone and Probe systems.Acquire and be able to communicate market knowledge for the industries in which the vendors participate. Manage the resolution of all suppliers driven quality issues, including but not limited to collection of reimbursement credit.Lead and drive “Make vs. Buy” analysis to optimize costs and efficiencies.Be accountable for compliance on Corporate Environmental Sustainability and Regulatory efforts representing sourcing area:Food Drug & Administration: Ensure suppliers comply with all required federal, national, regional, and local food safety regulations. Responsible to report any potential deficiencies in conjunction with R&D regulatory and/or Quality.Ethical Sourcing: Ensure all suppliers have received and agreed to comply with KPD Ethical Sourcing Policy.Risk Management: Ensure supplier risk is proactively understood and continuity business plans in place for any potential unpreventable interruption in supply. Requirements Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field required, Masters preferred.5-10 years leadership experience in ingredients procurement and global category management with specific focus on flavors & outlined categories would be preferred, however, not essential. Ability to drive performance through KDP Values.Experience in leading groups and influencing others to drive results.Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate to a wide variety of internal and external audiences and settings.Experience in supplier identification, development, and qualificationStrong analytical and financial skills to support procurement operations and strategies.Demonstrated ability to holistically view the procurement function and process as a part of a much larger process and company.Proven leadership to drive productivity through rapid continuous improvement.Strong and proven work ethic as a self-starterAbility to make decisions quickly and to move swiftly when opportunity arises.Change agent with astrong sense of adaptability / agility.Sense of urgency to drive results and get the job done.Strong focus, prioritization, and self-direction abilityProficient in Microsoft Office software, experience with SAP preferred.
