Aston Carter has a client in Shawnee, Kansas, who is looking for a Procurement Specialist. This client seeks an individual with at least 5 years of experience in the pharmaceutical or animal health industries. The salary for this position ranges from $90,000 to $100,000 per year and offers numerous opportunities for growth within the company.
Job Description
Manage relationships with key suppliers of materials and services to the site(s) and globally, negotiating cost-effective terms for major contracts. Be accountable for procurement activities, ensuring targets and objectives are met, and support global procurement initiatives to standardize providers and reduce costs. Drive material change controls and support site GM(s) with strategy and business plans by identifying improvement opportunities. Stay aware of market trends to maximize cost-saving opportunities and minimize procurement risks.
ResponsibilitiesManage relationships with key suppliers and negotiate cost-effective terms for major contracts.Ensure procurement activities achieve targets and objectives with consistency in systems, processes, and procedures.Support and lead global procurement initiatives to standardize material and service providers and reduce costs.Drive material change controls, CAPAs, and deviation actions as required within the portfolio.Support site GM(s) with strategy and business plans by identifying and communicating improvement opportunities.Stay aware of market and technology trends to maximize cost-saving opportunities and minimize procurement risks.Drive supplier KPIs and procurement strategy to deliver superior customer service and cost savings.Provide input and support for annual customer pricing reviews.Identify and source new materials in support of PDS.Set inventory standards (safety stock, lead times, MOQ, order multiples) in collaboration with the Head of Supply Chain.Identify supply chain risks for direct materials and lead projects to mitigate risks.Optimize cash flow through inventory policies and payment terms.Investigate and resolve anomalies with material suppliers via non-conformance reports, root cause analysis, and preventative action.Essential Skills5+ years of procurement experience, preferably in animal health or pharma fields.Experience handling procurement for multiple facilities concurrently.CDMO (Contract Development and Manufacturing Organization) experience.ERP experience, particularly with SAP ByDesign.Ability to assist with the transition/integration of newly acquired entities.Proficient in procurement analysis, negotiation, cost savings analysis, and vendor management.Additional Skills & QualificationsAbility to synergize across two locations.Experience in a US/global-based organization.Capability to negotiate beyond cost to gain value-added benefits such as MOQs, rebates, and enhanced services.Regulatory understanding due to the heavily regulated industry.Independent decision-making and autonomy in work.Work Environment
Onsite Monday through Friday, with occasional travel to Fort Dodge, IA (no more than 10% travel).
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $100000.00/yr.
