Then you should join the CNN Digital Programming and Distribution team.
CNN Digital’s Senior Producer, Programming and Distribution, will help run the team that takes the extraordinary content of CNN -- from text to videos to interactives -- curates and organizes it for CNN's industry-leading digital platforms.
The successful candidate will bring creativity, energy and substance to our programming and planning; have a full understanding of digital programming and storytelling; help set daily coverage priorities as well as longer-term planning; ensure successful workflows; be a data junkie, constantly refining and evolving strategy based on audience metrics; react swiftly to breaking news and help strategize the best delivery; and be able to identify engaging content and influence its production.
Your Role Accountabilities...
The Senior Producer will act as shift leader for the domestic programming team; direct programming decisions for CNN’s powerhouse mobile web, desktop and app homepages; elevate journalistic performance and standards; uphold the highest editorial standards of accuracy, timeliness, fairness and news judgment while programming pages and publishing alerts; and demonstrate a distinctive voice and approach to the news, positioning CNN as a must-read.
This is a highly collaborative role and a key leader for all of CNN. The Senior Producer will often be seen huddling with the digital content teams, suggesting priority story ideas or angles that we need in prominent places across the digital portfolio.
While this is not a TV or video production role, they are excellent partners with the separate video and photo teams, as well as key verticals, social, global newsgathering and TV programming.
They will have a prominent voice in collaboration with product, design and other teams within CNN Digital’s cross-functional process for identifying opportunities and solving problems.
The Senior Producer will use real-time and longer-term data to ensure placement of stories with accuracy, timeliness and creativity. They will help teams across all of Digital meet and exceed key goals.
They will be a super-user of the CMS and other publishing tools. They may work on specific projects with the design, development and product teams to implement new features or tools to the digital teams at large that help with workflow or help provide better audience insights.
They will drive efforts across editorial and other departments to stay ahead of industry best practices and to ensure that CNN maintains an environment that fosters creativity and innovation to deliver content in new ways that meet the audience's ever-changing expectations and high standards.
The Senior Producer ensures that shifts anticipate and are aware of news as it happens and that users are engaged with clear, powerful language.
They will be a competitive news animal, constantly scouring the competition to see who has what stories and how they are presented. They will use those insights to share ideas about best/worst practices, to ask questions and propose steps to help sharpen programming across CNN’s ever-expanding digital portfolio.

In compliance with local law, we are disclosing the compensation, or a range thereof, for roles in locations where legally required. Actual salaries will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to external market data, internal equity, location, skill set, experience, and/or performance. Base pay is just one component of Warner Bros. Discovery’s total compensation package for employees. Pay Range: $91,000.00 - $169,000.00 salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. In addition, Warner Bros.
