Senior Product Analyst

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Monitor and assess impacts of statistical bureau (ISO/NAIC/AAIS/etc.) loss costs and filings for application. Provide regular reporting and data analysis to product manager and business partners In partnership with actuarial staff, monitor performance of product(s) and recommend changes to rates or contract terms and conditions. Assist in development of new agribusiness products, coverages, forms, loss costs and other supporting information for the agribusiness division. Plan and prepare state filings. Research products for accuracy and compliance with state filings. Review new forms with Legal to assure regulatory compliance and that the language is clear and accomplishes the intent. Use competitive intelligence to assist in the development of new forms and analyze rate competitiveness Use competitive intelligence to perform coverage comparisons for Underwriting and Marketing Maintain product manuals Provide support to Product and Underwriting teams on underwriting appetite and guidelines. Interpret project requirements and create a plan to accomplish project goals in a timely manner. Develop specifications for Information Technology partners May participate or lead cross functional teams to complete key project work for the division. Identify obstacles within projects and seek solutions to remove them. Assemble teams to define and resolve project issues. Balance product commitments with production schedules. Basic knowledge of provisions and endorsements for all Agribusiness product lines. Provide expertise and consultation to underwriting on products, forms and compliance. Coordinate new product development with all necessary departments. Coordinate with Publishing for marketing materials Maintain current knowledge of procedures and policy provisions for all Agribusiness lines. Monitor insurance industry environment and trends. Proactively builds and strengthens relationships with peers, internal and external partners to support completion of ongoing assignments Assist with all other duties as assigned. 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Strong knowledge of statistical bureau (ISO/AAIS/NAIC/etc.) rules, loss costs, forms, and procedures. Strong knowledge of rating, forms, and underwriting requirements for agribusiness lines of insurance. Ability to perform basic and complex mathematical calculations. Knowledge of and the ability to learn and use insurance industry and company terminology. Ability to utilize competitive intelligence in coverage and rate development as well as coverage comparisons to assist Underwriting and Marketing Effective communicator. Ability to effectively communicate and maintain positive business relationships with company personnel, outside resources, and customers. Knowledge of the operation of a personal computer and software, including Isonet and Silverplume software. Strong Skills in Word, Excel, Outlook, Access, ISO Suite. Strong compliance knowledge. Self-directed: able to work independently with minimal supervision. Strong problem solving. Initiative to resolve problems. Basic actuarial concepts. Strong organization and multi-tasking. Ability to remain calm and professional. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Ability to work well with people in a team environment. Ability to work from oral or written communication. Ability to work flexible hours as required. Ability to assist in other work related areas as required. Familiar with state filing procedures. Is approachable and builds trust at all levels. 

 

B.A./B.S. degree required with a minimum of 3 years of work experience in property and casualty insurance field.  A minimum of 1 year working in product, compliance, regulations, or research and development preferred.
