Position Description:

The Product Analyst for Emerging Research Data Product team will be part of the Scientific data consumption product team. In this role, they will work with product teams, technical teams, SMEs and stakeholders to uncover and communicate user needs and assist in conducting product discovery activities to create data products.

You will work closely with multi-disciplinary teams helping to solve complex data problems. You will have to understand complexities in Research data and work with stakeholder, engineering team to make data understandable and accessible.

The Scientific Data Consumption Product Line (SDC) provides a combination of technology, infrastructure, software, and personnel to support large scale scientific data consumption and computing comprising of the Scientific Data Platform, Modeling and Machine Learning Platforms, High Performance Computing (HPC) workflows, and “experience” products such as visualization, modeling workbenches, and analytics development environments.   

Key Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

Gathers, manages, and prioritizes product requirements that detail user problems and needs, technical constraints and strategic objectives. Define, refine the product backlog and create actionable user stories for the development teamsIs a user expert and understands the reasons customers use the products. Can justify improvements to existing products in a value focused mannerDefines what to solve by articulating the value of problems to be solved, along with priorities and justification for each part of the solution. Develops and maintains relevant technical knowledge and/or specific domain expertise pertinent to the product area or capability they are working in. Describes what to solve by writing problem statements and requirements* and facilitates the “how” with the engineering team. Supports product manager in defining and driving the strategy as well as day to day execution in collaboration with engineering teams for one or more products.Acts as the customer champion articulating and advocating the user’s needs 

Required Experience and Skills:

Minimum 3-5 years working with customers to define requirements, preferably data analyticsExperience building ERD, logical data models, source-target mappings.\\, writing SQLHands-on experience or working knowledge with data management services such as AWS Athena, Glue, S3, Redshift, or similar tools & services is highly desired.Identify and define business problems, and translate them into actionable requirements and tasksDemonstrate analytical problem-solving and communication skills Effectively engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders and users Be able to work independently, anticipating and resolving problemsExperience managing multiple complex experience design and development projects simultaneously

Preferred Experience and Skills:

Pharmaceutical drug discovery and pre-clinical development experience.Domain knowledge or familiarity with Machine Learning Platforms (e.g. Sagemaker and DataBricks)Experience working in Agile software development
