Job SummaryLeonardo DRS Land Systems is seeking a full time Senior Product Data Manager for our Bridgeton, MO facility. This position will be responsible for managing product data for large or complex projects and serve as project lead for all issues relating to product data management. They will also assist significantly in the establishment of company policy regarding product data management, especially in support of DRS Land System’s goal of leading the establishment of Model-Based Systems Engineering.
Job Responsibilities Product data manager for large or complex projects and is the project lead for all issues relating to product data management Provide a significant role in the establishment of company policy regarding product data management Serve as subject matter expert in the application of product lifecycle management techniques as they relate to project and systems engineering Support the establishment of the overall configuration management policies for the company Has the ability to perform configuration management planning for complex projects Has an understanding of configuration management processes, procedures, and techniques as they apply to project management Fluency in current Product Data Management standards with the ability to review contract SOWs to determine appropriate application of procedures Plan and coordinate configuration management requirements and inter-relationships with suppliers for complex systems Lead the Engineering technical staff in establishment and documentation of configuration management planning and implementation on projects Provide project leadership to the engineering technical staff in the decision processes required for effective configuration management Provide the lead customer interface regarding configuration management in support of Program Management Prepare and present all aspects of configuration management plans and status accounting in customer meetings Participation in the development of plans and procedures regarding configuration management Job Responsibilities Part II Provide training to subordinate configuration staff in the use of configuration management tools and techniques Develop and track metrics to provide measurement of configuration management effectiveness Establish and implement identification, cause, and corrective action for configuration management deficiencies Regularly report progress and status Establish audit schedules Review contract SOW for data delivery requirements and associated delivery schedules Prepare the configuration management proposals and cost estimates Utilize Product Data Management tools and perform the preparation of contract data item submittals Ability to work independently as the key Product Data Management resource on projects Communicate clearly (written and oral) with other company personnel and the customer as required Completion of assigned task on time and meeting technical requirements Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization Lead formal configuration management activities such as Physical Configuration Audits Provide a high level of guidance in support of the preparation of Technical Data Packages Attend appropriate engineering, customer or business meetings Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical field (CAD data systems) or equivalent experience 10+ years of relevant experience in the field of Product Data Management including experience with project and systems engineering techniques Knowledge of Product Lifecycle Management Systems (PLM) Demonstrated proficiency regarding configuration management principles as they relate to Engineering, Procurement, Manufacturing, and Logistics Experience establishing Configuration Management policy General computer skills with developed familiarity with product data management tools Experience with CAD data systems desirable
