The Senior Product Development Technologist - Time of Flight Analyzers is responsible for characterizing and verifying key technologies on various world-class time of flight mass spectrometers. In this capacity, the incumbent is responsible for the investigation of new technologies and experimentation directed at the practical application of scientific theories. This will be achieved through participation in high-performing, multi-disciplinary project teams engaged in all phases of product development, from concept to product launch. The individual will help solve design problems through collaboration with multiple technical disciplines within the engineering and science community, while following established guidelines, procedures, and design practices. This position reports to the Manager, Product Development Scientists and is part of the Research and Development team located in Concord, Ontario, Canada and will be an on-site role. In this role, you will have the opportunity to: + Test novel time-of-flight mass spectrometry hardware to enable customer workflows. + Define experimental risks and execute different methodologies to verify or validate different aspects of hardware/software under the guidance of more senior scientists. + Work closely with multiple groups throughout the product development process, such as Design Engineering, Research, Project Management, Hardware Verification and Validation etc. The essential requirements of the job include: + 3+ years Mass Spectrometry experience; Direct experience with time-of-Flight mass spectrometry strongly preferred. + Experience with processing of complex mass spectrometry data sets. + B.Sc. or higher in a relevant field such as Chemistry, Physic, Biology strongly preferred.
