Standard Duties :
Analyze drawing deviations for functional risk and/or acceptance. Approve or reject design deviations based on engineering analysis.Propose solutions to manufacturing problems.Work with suppliers to improve quality and address non-conformance to drawings.Mark up drawings for design improvement.Analyze data; provide process capability analyses and apply statistical process control.Evaluate torque transfer products in vehicle.Analyze warranty data and opportunities for design and process improvement.Interface with customers (automotive original equipment manufacturers) for advanced product quality planning, issues and warranty concerns.Communicate effectively across functional groups (product engineering, assembly, management, and manufacturing) and locations (Seneca, SC, Auburn Hills, MI, and multiple locations in Asia).Supports production with expertise and problem solving of product, design, and assembly issues.Root cause analysis and implementation of effective solutions.Lead design cost reduction activities.Other duties as assigned.Knowledge/ Skills
General metallurgy knowledge preferred, including steel, aluminum and magnesium.Self-motivation & self-starting work habits preferred.Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications - Word, Excel and PowerPoint required.Strong analytical ability and problem solving experience required.Professional verbal and written communication skills required.Experience in powertrain, driveline and/or 4WD systems is preferred.Experience and/or training in the development and maintenance of DFMEAs is required.Experience and/or training in APQP is preferred.Experience and/or training in DFM/DFA is preferred.Manufacturing and assembly process knowledge preferred.Knowledge of IATF is preferred.Ability to read prints and knowledge of GD&T is preferred.Additional Information:
Travel is occasionally required, up to 5% of the time.Safety and Physical Requirements:

Four-year Bachelor’s degree in Engineering field required.
