You are key in evaluating and underwriting product liability risks while working with a strong team. Contribute your skills and experience to shape the future direction of our business. Leverage your highly technical underwriting skills and broad broker partner networks to expand our distribution network nationally. Collaborate with the existing team to drive profitable growth with renewals and new business submissions in targeted product classes. Bring your full understanding of the client's requirements and expectations for insureds in the manufacturing and distribution industry and a strong ability to analyze and interpret technical data to help drive us into the future.

Key Responsibilities:
Evaluate submissions to assess each risk and pricing for the unique class, review endorsement requests and coverage limits, determine pricing, etc.
Exercise strong underwriting acumen & discipline applying analytical skills to drive risk selection and expand TM HCC’s footprint in the market.
Engage in a supportive team dynamic that promotes collaboration, honesty, integrity, and values feedback and new ideas to drive growth & strategy.
Promote a consultative and collaborative relationship with wholesale brokerage partners based in offering creative solutions for product-driven risks.
Participate in special projects as delegated by upper management.
Mentor junior underwriters and support staff.
About You:Life Science Experience is a MAJOR POSITIVE and will jump you to the top of our candidate list
Bachelor’s degree in risk management, business administration, accounting, or relevant education/ experience.
3+ years of experience as a Product Liability Underwriter possessing significant experience in segments such as life science, plastic & rubber goods, machinery, electronic equipment and component parts, non-critical auto, etc.
Proven ability to engage with the wholesale brokerage community.
Aptitude for learning internal systems, applications and internal workflows.
Exercise outstanding communication skills including presentations and underwriting documentation.
Must be able to effectively interact with stakeholders at all levels of the company.
Working knowledge of MS Excel is preferred (pivot tables, macros, and intermediate formulas).
Exceptional organizational, time-management, and multi-tasking skills.
Available for travel to assigned territory for broker visits, industry events
Additional Certifications that are a plus:
Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU)
Manufacturing Risk Insurance Specialist (MRIS)
Associate in Surplus Line Insurance (ASLI)
Associate in Commercial Underwriting (AU)
Associate in Insurance (AINS) or equivalent insurance designation
Life Science underwriting experience ~ emphasis on medical devices and dietary supplements
