We are seeking a Senior Product Manager, Accounting and Data Platform to aid our accounting team in formulating and executing a data and tooling strategy for how data is created, used and reported for specific lines of business within Zillow group.
You will work closely with leaders in Finance, including Accounting, Billing, SOX, Legal and Tax to develop a platform for how financial and reporting data is created, transformed, used, and consumed by finance stakeholders and individual contributors.
Collaboration is a key ingredient for success. You must be able to recognize key dependencies across different teams and revenue generation products at Zillow to coordinate successful product launches with accurate and correct reporting. You will also provide product consultancy and recommendations to your business partners, helping them to better understand trade-offs, interoperability, and maintenance costs, enabling them to select the right solution that will help them meet their business objectives.
Primary responsibilities include:
Develop a strategy and platform around data ingestion, transformation, and downstream usage via existing tooling such as Databricks, the FinTech Platform, Domo, Workday and other custom applications.
Own responsibility for interfacing with various revenue generation teams to understand upcoming changes, understand accounting requirements and translate into functional requirements for execution.
Collaborate with key Finance partners and subject matter experts to translate functional revenue generation product requirements into requirements for financial reporting, data management and journal entry creation.
Collect and analyze quantitative and qualitative data to define opportunity size, understand root cause of issues that help guide product planning and prioritization.
Work across the software development lifecycle (SDLC) - able to define the problem in discovery, draft detailed requirements (user stories), plan development sprints, develop UAT plans, and support continuous releases.
Implement large-scale 3rd party SaaS products, participate in RFPs, evaluate vendor demos/scorecard, create statement of work (SOW), broker detailed requirements, and develop cutover plans.
Stakeholder management is paramount - communicate progress and findings to program leaders and other key partners, via product briefs, status updates, and demos. Utilize tools such as Jira or other project management software.
Working remotely requires effective asynchronous communication, must be able to formulate and express ideas effectively in written form.

This base pay range is specific to California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Nevada, New York, Washington state, and Washington DC and may not be applicable to other locations.In addition to a competitive base salary this position is also eligible for equity awards based on factors such as experience, performance and location. Actual amounts will vary depending on experience, performance and location.Who you are4+ years’ FinTech experience working with enterprise financial applications (examples Workday, PeopleSoft, Oracle, SAP), implementing large-scale 3rd party SaaS products and solutions
5+ years working as a Product Manager or directly with Product Managers, operating in an Agile development environment
Experience working directly with internal and external technology analysts and developers.
Proven track record leading cross-functional work, delivering quality work on time, experience guiding prioritization of work; ability to make trade-off decisions to meet customer needs, given technology and capacity constraints.
Conversant in FinTech systems design and finance operations, especially in accounting, such as revenue recognition, balance sheet reconciliation, external and internal reporting, and SOX compliance
A degree in finance, accounting designations, or functional experience supporting payments, tax, treasury, procurement or financial reporting processes, a plus.
