Senior Product Manager
Working within the Partner Product global product team, you will be responsible for helping to define the future of Expedia Group’s Reservations platform. You will inform product strategy based on market trends, threats, and opportunities. You will own a product roadmap supported by engineering teams across the globe. You will work with product counterparts, data scientists, analysts, and engineers to define, and deliver concrete product features to execute on Expedia’s Reservation Product Strategy.
In this role, you will help drive the strategy and vision to evolve the Reservation platform solutions toward a scalable and efficient platform by ensuring capabilities are built not only to solve Traveler and Supply Partner problems, but also to seamlessly scale across channels. You will leverage your understanding of new technologies such as machine learning, streaming and big data to create amazing products that solve very concrete user and business problems. Working closely with counterparts on the Product across Traveler Post Booking and Supply Management.
What You’ll Do:
• Inform Expedia’s global lodging and other line of business domain Reservation strategy based on industry trends, opportunity, and threat analysis
• Set, track, analyze and communicate the business goals for the product, with a focus on integrating other lines of business into Reservations, providing a single point of contact between technology and stakeholders
• Collaborate across various product groups across, working with stakeholders to collaboratively develop feature definitions and help define, track and manage the product line strategy, backlog, and roadmap.
• Cultivate effective relationships with key internal business teams, with a special focus on building bridges within the diverse business groups that run Expedia's brand organizations (Hotels.com, Expedia.com, Private Label Solutions), non-lodging LOB (Air, Cars, Activities) corporate functions (Finance, Tax, Legal), and lodging partner relationships and Data Science.
• Work closely with technical leaders and architects to understand how to develop innovative, sustaining and disruptive new capabilities
• Collaborate with the development teams as the voice of the customer and lodging partner. Work closely with business and technology teams to prioritize and schedule enhancements and fixes to existing functionality
Who You Are:
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a related field; or Equivalent related professional experience
• 6-8+ years’ experience defining product features in response to overall business strategy and delivering those features to market
• 6-8+ years’ experience decomposing, communicating, and prioritizing business requirements for technical teams in a role such as Product Manager or Business Analyst
• Basic high-level understanding of software engineering practices is a requirement (caching, release cycle, integration)
• Self-starter with demonstrated strengths managing products in complex, multi-project delivery environments
• Ability to evangelize and articulate technical products to both technical and non-technical audiences
• Proven skills at cultivating strong working relationships, and driving collaboration across multiple business and technical teams
• Proven influencing skills: the ability to manage expectations of business partners while maintaining productive relationships
• Proven knowledge of e-commerce standards and best practices
