Senior Product Manager
Overview: Cvent is a leading cloud-based enterprise platform that offers software solutions to event planners, travel managers, and hotel suppliers for online event registration, venue selection, event management, mobile apps for events, e-mail marketing, and web surveys as well as sourcing both meetings and transient rates. Our solutions optimize the entire value chain and have enabled clients around the world to manage hundreds of thousands of meetings and events as well as source rates for event planners and travel managers. Cvent is looking for a Sr. Product Manager to join our rapidly growing company in either Dallas, TX or Tyson’s Corner, VA, to work on our Business Transient product line. As a Sr. Product Manager, you will help execute on the vision of the product roadmap. You will lead an agile scrum team to execute projects while demonstrating sound judgment, critical and analytical thinking skills, leadership, and a sense of urgency. Fostering a team environment of shared ownership and being able to drive decisions effectively within the technology and business teams is essential. In This Role, You Will: Support the entire product lifecycle from strategic planning and conceptualization to tactical activities to meet company goals Partner with customer-facing teams and cross-functional teams on customer needs and the sales funnel Partner with internal teams on business requirements documents, business process flow diagrams, and other documentation needed for internal communication Be a creative force in working closely with the user experience team to deliver state-of-the-art user experiences Own the product requirement clarifications and definitions Be the escalation point and decision-maker regarding business rules or clarifications during development and certification cycles Oversee development, testing, and deployment to ensure product adherence to original specifications and successful deployment Proactively manage and balance multiple stakeholders’ expectations regarding feature request prioritization and deployment Participate in release meetings with senior management, providing insight and business perspective for new features Communicate and provide training on new product enhancements Evangelize products internally across all functions of the business Support sales efforts with participation in prospective client/partner meetings, as required Lead competitive analysis efforts as it relates to marketing, sales, and product strategy Develop and maintain a keen understanding of competitive products and offerings Participate in market and industry research to keep abreast of event planning and meetings management, applying market intelligence findings into product features and enhancements Here's What You Need: BS in Business, Information Systems, or an equivalent major 6-8 years of product management experience, leading teams 2-4 years of experience working closely with user experience designers and engineers in the development of graphical user interfaces Solid understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle, the design of modern, web-based user interfaces, and relational & document-oriented databases Proven ability to interact and collaborate across the organization, including working closely with marketing, sales, professional services, and customer support Excellent written and oral communication skills, with demonstrated ability to drive clarity and precision in product requirements Highly detail-oriented and analytic skills required Relevant industry knowledge of the corporate travel process and the underlying technology used to support corporate travel sourcing and booking is a benefit Must be flexible and willing to undertake a wide variety of challenging tasks, while driving results Intense curiosity and ability to learn the corporate transient business quickly Experience working with distributed teams preferred At Cvent we celebrate, support and are committed to creating a diverse and inclusive environment.
