As a Sr. Product Manager of Hardware for 365 Retail Markets, you have a substantial opportunity to help drive the innovation within the product team. We intend this to be a highly cross-functional role at 365, regularly partnering with technology, sales, customer success and production among others.

Responsibilities

Design and Develop Hardware Solutions – Utilize SolidWorks and other CAD tools to create original hardware designs that meet functional requirements while balancing cost, manufacturability, and scalability.Ensure Design for Manufacturability (DFM) & Cost Optimization – Work closely with vendors, contract manufacturers, and component suppliers to develop hardware solutions that optimize cost, material selection, and production efficiency without sacrificing quality.Prototype, Test, and Iterate – Lead prototype development and oversee validation testing (EVT, DVT, PVT) to refine designs, resolve technical challenges, and ensure a seamless transition to production.Collaborate with Engineering Teams – Work cross-functionally with mechanical, electrical, and firmware engineers to develop integrated hardware solutions that align with system requirements and industry standards.Enhance operational efficiency to improve the management of hardware peripherals (e.g., barcode scanners, industrial PCs, modems, etc.) to optimize reliability and performance.Bridge the gap between engineering and market needs by translating customer pain points and market demands into technical requirements.Ensure hardware certification and compliance and seek the necessary regulatory approvals to ensure alignment with local market standards, 365 is a global company.Deliver seamless go-to-market execution by collaborating with sales, marketing, and support teams to ensure smooth product launches and clear value proposition messaging.Develop packaging and SKU strategies by managing SKU structures, BOMs, and packaging to optimize logistics and customer experience.Establish and maintain strong partnerships with key hardware vendors, component suppliers, and manufacturing partners to ensure product quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery. Your ability to negotiate, assess new technologies, and drive supplier accountability will directly impact our product success and operational efficiency.Championing a hands-on, data-driven approach by using a combination of real-world testing, user feedback, and analytics to drive informed decision-making. Requirements 5+ years of hardware product management experience, with a strong background in mechanical design, prototyping, and manufacturing processes (experience with POS peripherals, payments hardware, or IoT devices is a plus).Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks preferred) for creating and reviewing product designs, evaluating tolerances, and ensuring manufacturability.Bachelor’s degree in engineering, product, or relevant experience (MBA preferred)Hands-on experience with hardware development processes, from prototyping to mass production, including knowledge of materials, injection molding and metal fabrication.Experience with hardware certifications and regulatory compliance (UL, CE, PCI, EMVCo a plus).Experience working with contract manufacturers, suppliers, and hardware vendors to develop and launch products at scale.Excellent communication & collaboration skills across production, sales, & operations teams.Ability to work onsite in Troy, MI required, given the hands-on nature of the role.Ability to travel 5%-10%.
