Senior Product Order Engineer

The Senior Order Engineer Position is based in FCEC Chennai, India and as an Order Engineer supporting Middle East and Africa, they must review the customer purchase order from Sales & LBP teams, transform them into accurate Bills of materials (BOM) and release the order to MEA factories, drive continuous improvement on metrics and ensure accurately detailed technical order constructions in the business systems at all the stages of manufacturing. 

 

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

Perform Detailing activities necessary to communicate an accurate Bill of materials to Manufacturing  Review the Sales/LBP orders for completeness of technical requirements for MEA sourced Project and MRO orders. Feedback to Sales/LBPs in case of any technical discrepancies.  Communicate with internal sales team, LBPs, Global Industry Sales, R&D Engineering, Project management to insure proper form, fit and function for the bill of materials provided  Verifies the completeness and correctness of product structure against the technical specs and ensure that the selected product is suitable for the service.  Monitor the progress of orders and call out issues to ensure timely release of items to manufacturing.  Provide a high level of ownership of completed work through the production process, includes items in manufacturing, assembly and Bill of Materials related questions  Support the order engineers in preparing Bills of Materials for special valve construction and initiate request to R&D Engineering team for new drawings as and when required.  Support change order owner in determining the change order charges and delivery impact  Works with Sales team, operations team, and other internal functions on the customer requirements and resolve issues  Provides timely response to order enquiries and act as a point of escalation when necessary.  Responsible for the providing the monthly reports addressing Unclean orders, New Design requests, New part number creations with Customer specific processing, change order reports , Right First-Time issue reports  Participates and accepts in continuous process improvements focused on systems and reporting 

Who you are:

As an Order Engineer, the candidate shall handle MEA sourced Project and MRO orders supporting Order Engineering team, MEA World Area. 

She/ he configures and details orders in an accurate and timely manner to release work orders to MEA manufacturing sites. They analyses orders and identifies errors preventing order progression and communicates errors or discrepancies and take actions necessary to find a solution. 

Must understand Bills of Materials and configure the product necessary to communicate customer requirements to MEA sourced manufacturing sites. Responsible and accountable for the effective execution of Emerson valves orders within the functions of their responsibility. 

 

For This Role, You Will Need:

Degree in Mechanical, Instrumentation or Chemical Engineering.

Experience in highly Mechanical / Design / Technology focused role.

Minimum 3 years’ Overall experience 2 years’ experience in control valves (Sales & Application, Order Engineering, Manufacturing)  Knowledge in SAP, Oracle Business system, JDE, Microsoft or any other ERP system is mandatory  General understanding on the quote to cash processes Mechanical /technical drawing interpretations Strong communication and interpersonal skills

 

Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:

Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.

Order Engineering experience in Fisher control valves would be an added advantage.
