CACI’s Agile Digital Solutions Group is seeking a Strategy and Design Principal to provide senior-level systems engineering and experience design expertise for NASA’s Consolidated Applications and Platform Services (NCAPS) program. NCAPS is an effort to consolidate application support and transform IT capability delivery across NASA, including general IT, customer support, information management, and mission support systems.
This role applies systems engineering principles to the design and integration of digital solutions, ensuring human-centered, mission-aligned experiences. The Strategy and Design Principal will bridge technical system requirements with user experience and service design, ensuring IT solutions effectively support NASA’s workforce and mission objectives.
The Opportunity:
Conduct systems-level analysis of software applications and human-computer interactions to create cohesive, user-centered digital ecosystems.
Facilitate workshops, design sprints, and collaborative sessions to align technical capabilities, customer experience, and business objectives.
Provide strategic guidance on human-centered systems engineering, ensuring IT services enhance usability, performance, and mission-critical processes.
Partner with cross-functional teams, including engineering, product management, and service owners, to implement experience-driven IT solutions.
Advocate for data-informed decision-making, integrating qualitative and quantitative research to optimize system performance and usability.
Stay ahead of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in systems engineering and experience design.
Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain design and service blueprinting systems to ensure consistency and efficiency across NASA’s IT landscape.
Conduct usability research and stakeholder analysis to inform system architecture and workflow integration.
Identify opportunities to improve NASA’s digital experiences, aligning IT solutions with end-user needs.
Utilize Agile methodologies to iteratively refine IT services based on stakeholder feedback and performance data.
Qualifications:
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in systems engineering, design, psychology, business, or a related field, with 10+ years of relevant experience.
Deep expertise in digital strategy, and human-centered research.
Strong background in experience design, usability testing, and iterative solution development.
Ability to bridge technical engineering concepts with user experience strategy.
Must be a US citizen
Desired:
Master’s degree in design, psychology, business, or a related field.
Experience working in an Agile development environment.
Expertise in service design methodologies, including blueprinting and systems mapping.
Familiarity with data-driven decision-making, analytics, and visualization tools.

The proposed salary range for this position is:
