Senior Production Assocaite - Barrier - B Shift
Eaton’s ES AMER ARS division is currently seeking a Senior Production Assocaite - Barrier - B Shift. Hours for the role are 3:00pm-1:30am and days are Monday-Thursday. The hourly rate for this position is $17.00 per hour. Comes with a $1/shift differential. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. **What you’ll do:** Eaton is currently seeking a Senior Production Associate, Switchboard Assembly, Barrier to join our team. This position is based out of our Sumter, SC facility. In the Senior Production Associate, Switchboard Assembly, Barrier role, you will use tools and cut various materials to create and install safety barriers for switchboards. You will effectively communicate and work with members of a team to complete work assignment and meet safety, quality, and productivity goals. **ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:** • Contribute to a safe, engaged and inclusive work culture by complying with all safety requirements, including proper use of personal protective equipment and operation of equipment, and performing 5S duties. • Be responsible for understanding power flow and referencing guidelines in order to comply with regulations when cutting and placing barriers. • Identify electrical risks and fabricate custom barriers to block electrically charged components when necessary. • Work from manufacturing information such as front views, bill of materials, drawings, blueprints, order entry systems, and oral or written instructions in order to accurately complete production in a timely manner. • Use a tape measure to accurately measure material and cut according to specifications, using shear and/or hand/power tools. • Maintain expected progress of jobs in area of assignment and communicate problem areas or part shortages. • Proactively identify opportunities for process improvement as well as complete root cause analysis in response to issues with quality or production. • Responsible for quality, including visual inspections of material before and after assembly, identifying nonconforming parts, completing quality checklist, and troubleshooting errors. • Cross train and stand in for other employees/job functions when necessary. **Qualifications:** **BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:** • High School Diploma or GED from accredited institution • Authorized to work in the United States without Company sponsorship • No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates that currently reside within the 50 miles of Sumter, SC will be considered **PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:** • Ability to read and comprehend front views, one line diagrams, bills of material and pick sheets. • Utilize various hand tools to assemble and verify quality in low voltage switchboard enclosures/assemblies in a Lean environment. • Manufacturing or operations experience. • Some experience in assembly operation, or assembly requiring drawings or diagrams. **Skills:** • Demonstrated comprehension of power flow. • Exhibit strong verbal and written communication skills, persuasive skills, and analytical problem-solving skills with individuals and groups to effectively participate within a team environment. • Exhibit strong analytical and problem-solving skills so as to resolve any obstacles or delays that may occur in the production process. • Understanding and application of basic mathematical concepts including fractions. • Proficient with computers and programs including Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel). • Willing to work flexible hours and overtime in support of business needs. • Must work somewhat independently and make decisions that affect the workgroup. The employee is frequently required to lift/carry up to 35 pounds and to push/pull up to or greater than 35 pounds with or without accommodation. The vision requirements include far and close vision with depth perception and color discrimination.
