The Opportunity:
Explore Manufacturing are looking for an experienced Production Leader to lead a competent and motivated workforce, which works safely at all times, manufacturing quality product, right first time, in line with client requirements.
Delivering consistently to plan, in a timely and cost-effective way whilst operating responsibly and sustainably. The Production Leader has a team of three shift focused Production Team Leaders who share a team of fifty.
What will the role look like?
Assuring we operate a Safety-First culture Maintaining a fully trained, competent, managed and motivated workforce (where training needs are identified have a clearly documented plan in place) Ensuring we fully understand those risks we expose employees, contractors or visitors to, and ensure adequate controls are in place and maintained Working in accordance with Next Gear principles, ensuring all activities are supported by suitable and sufficient risk assessments and safe working practice (all associated documentation must be suitably maintained and centrally (EIP) stored) Ensuring all operational equipment is fit for purpose and is frequently and formally inspected Maintaining operational areas and environments to a high standard Manufacturing quality product to the highest achievable standards on a consistent basis, ensuring the company QMS is fully adhered to Delivering Production to plan, which has been collectively agreed as a result of collaborative liaison with the planning function Utilising business forecasts, look ahead and make foreseeable judgements on necessary requirements (resource / materials / footprint / space etc.) Suitably investigating departmental occurrences (HSE / Quality) with the potential for negative impact so as to identify necessary preventative measures. Managing all forms of cost in line with departmental cost centres and predetermined operational budgets
What skills & experience are we looking for?
Experienced leader with a manufacturing / operational background ideally with experience of concrete products / building materials / construction management. Industry or professional experience relevant to the precast concrete / building materials industry Appropriate Safety Management qualification History of self-improvement through either company training schemes or external training courses Self-motivated, proven team player, capable of managing a busy production teamDon't match all the criteria?
