From the underwriters to claims representatives, the focus is strictly on property and inland marine coverages. The team has an average of 19 years of industry experience, and is dedicated to writing only these coverages, which include but are not limited to: Builder's Risk, Contractor's Equipment, Motor Truck Cargo, and Commercial Property.​​

We are looking for a Senior Production Underwriter to join the Midwest Underwriting Team in the Property & Inland Marine Division. Depending on where his individual is located, they will either work 100% remote or work a hybrid schedule out of our Cincinnati, OH headquarters. We are open to remote candidates that reside in the Midwest territory: MN, WI, IA, KS, MO, IL, MI, IN, OH, or KY.

Essential Job Functions and ResponsibilitiesHas responsibility for risk selection/rejection, pricing, retention, growth, and profitability per divisional objectives.Uses independent judgment and initiative to support business goals.Maintains a high level of customer service.Analyzes coverage and limit requests and decides what terms to offer.Prices business in accordance with company guidelines.Assesses risk quality and compliance within company guidelines and initiates appropriate loss prevention actions.Orders and screens miscellaneous reports needed in the rating and underwriting processes, such as Motor Vehicle reports, loss history reports, credit checks, outside inspections, loss control, etc.Develops and maintains effective business relationships with internal and external customers/coworkers in order to attract and retain profitable business.Interprets, explains, and markets products and services.Develops relationships with agents & brokers. Applies underwriting rules and guidelines, rating manual rules, and insurance laws and regulations. May provide guidance and assistance to lower level positions. Performs other duties as assigned. 

Job RequirementsBachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in Business, Liberal Arts or a related discipline.Generally, 3 to 6+ years of Commercial Inland Marine, or commercial property underwriting experience. Inland Marine underwriting experience is preferred.  Progression toward certification in area of expertise preferred; appropriate certifications could include Associate in Underwriting (AU), Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC), Program in General Insurance (INS) or Associate of Risk Management (ARM).

Salary Range:

$72,000.00 -$140,000.00

The wage range for this job is based on role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay takes into account a variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skills, education, training, licensure and certifications, experience of the candidate, the role's scope, complexity, and other business and organizational needs.
