Essential Job Functions and ResponsibilitiesIn this position a self-motivated individual will use independent judgment to analyze financial and risk data to assess risk quality and exposures. They will determine appropriate recommendations subject to our management and underwriting guidelines and will proactively build broker relationships by communicating our underwriting appetite and stimulating production. This individual will be responsible for ensuring the delivery, follow-up, and servicing requirements of all quotes on new and renewal accounts. This includes visiting brokers to review prospects and triage applications in the broker’s office.Job RequirementsBachelor’s degree and generally 3 to 6 years of California workers compensation field/production underwriting experience.Proficient with underwriting concepts and their practical application. Familiarity with the Southern California broker plant a plus. Excellent communication, interpersonal, presentation and organizational skills. Uses communication skills to build trusting relationships and enhance service reputation. Continuing education such as CIC or CPCU designation is a plus. A valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record are required.Travel is required in this position.Must reside in Southern California as this position services our Southern California territory.Additional Job DescriptionScope of Job: Performs work under general supervision and technical direction.
