The Senior Program Director at the YMCA of Southwest Florida oversees the development and operations of various assigned programs and designs practices, processes, and procedures for strong program and project management
RequirementsESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Serves as an integral member of the branch leadership team and oversees three or more programs within a single branch or two or more locations in multiple branches.Develops, implements, and oversees operating plans to promote quality membership & program growth for the YMCA and to expand service to our community.Measures progress against strategic goals and ensures continuous improvement.Assures compliance with state and local regulations. Ensures that member & program standards are met, and safety procedures are followed.Serves as a role model and mentor to other Program Directors within the branch as well as association wide.Develops, oversees, and controls department budgets related to the position so that resources are devoted to top priorities and strategic objectives.Uses data to analyze financial trends and forecast future financial progress for the organization.Hires, trains, and develops a highly effective and professional staff and volunteer team.Leads by example and fosters a work culture that promotes staff engagement and increases retention.Reviews, evaluates, and documents staff performance.Develops strategies to motivate staff, achieve goals and enhance leadership development.Ensures high quality member experience & programs through innovative program development, establishing new member & program activities and expanding programs within the community in accordance with strategic and operating plans.Assists in the marketing and distribution of program information, may organize, and schedule program registrations and perform other necessary administrative tasks.Identifies, develops, and maintains collaborative relationships with community organizations.Participates in meeting branch philanthropy goals through participation in the Annual Campaign and Special Events.Facilitates and coordinates participation in community events, expos, on and offsite open houses, etc. to increase awareness and foster relationships in YMCA programs.May serve as an association lead in one or more Core Business areas based upon prior demonstrated success.*On-site attendance is required of this positionADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES: MANAGER ON DUTY
Provide leadership and supervision for the facility while on duty.In the event of an incident or emergency, address according to association protocols and support staff, members and participants as needed.Be present on the floor for all assigned shifts. Make rounds and check areas hourly.Meet and greet members and visitors in a positive and professional manner as a representative of the leadership team of the YMCA; ensure the security of the facility enforcing policy regarding visitors.Assist front desk staff:Pass out equipment.Answer telephones in a prompt courteous manner.Provide Cause Driven tours.Provide program information.Check cleanliness of locker roomsPerform clean up as needed.Walk the facility and gymnasium, meet, and greet members, observe staff performance, check cleanliness of facility.Provide feedback for Director’s on observation during shifts on MOD report.QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent preferred.YMCA Team Leader or Multi-Team Leader certification preferred.Four or more years of program development and management experience, specifically tennis and wellness a plus.Ability to direct programs through supervision of volunteers and staff, development and monitoring of budgets, marketing and public relations, program development and fundraising.Ability to conduct authentic conversations with staff to ensure an understanding of expectations as well as identify potential for leadership advancement.Knowledge of the community served and an understanding of its needs.Ability to establish and maintain collaborations with community organizations.Must possess a high level of professionalism to include excellent communication, customer service, and organizational skills.Proficient in MS (Excel, Word, Ppt)CERTIFICATIONS AND TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:
CPR and First Aid Certifications required.Annual completion of YMCA’s Blood Borne Pathogens trainingAnnual completion of YMCA of the USA Child Abuse and Neglect classCompletion of YMCA program-specific certifications.Additional training classes as recommended by supervisor.Successfully complete State of Florida Criminal History Background Check requirements as well as meet the Association’s policies on background screening.WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
