Senior Program Manager - Motorsports

General Description: Responsible for driving growth and profitability for one or multiple Programs under management.
Responsibilities: Responsible for interviewing, hiring, training, and development of the team. Manage employees through performance management, setting priorities, developing work plans and schedules, handling department issues, and approving timecards and expense reports. Identify, plan, and resolve routine department coverage and workload issues. Provide management oversight and P&L responsibility for specific insurance programs. Recommend to management the authority levels for underwriting staff and amendments or enhancements to applicable program. Manage applicable program parameters. Includes portfolio metrics and program strategy. Ensure underwriting profitability and compliance aligns with carrier and regulatory standards.Serve as the senior subject matter specialist for applicable program. Underwrite the most highly complex assignments. Determine appropriate price and develop rate tables, coverage grant, terms, and conditions. Market company products and services through defined distribution sources. Develop and maintain applicable agency, broker, and account relationships. Collaborate with actuarial, operations, loss control, and claims functional staff in the execution of agreed program strategy and identification of program opportunities.Provide leadership support to less experienced staff.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:5+ years of related Motorsports underwriting and/or insurance experience. 3+ years in management. High school diploma or graduate equivalent degree required. College degree preferred.Must hold or will obtain Property & Casualty and/or appropriate business licensure.Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of products. Experience managing an underwriting business, product development, customer retention, and claims advocacy for one or more insurance programs. Experience participating in the development and implementation of sales and service goals.Ability to develop and lead implementation of strategic business initiatives, marketing strategies, and campaigns. Ability to provide market intelligence, consultation, and client-specific assistance to producers.
Physical Demands:Work is performed in a climate-controlled office environment with minimal noise and limited to no exposure to chemicals or toxins. Employees operate office equipment including telephone - headset, computer, computer monitors, keyboard, mouse, copier, scanner, and mail machine. Physical tasks of job include walking, sitting, standing, bending, and typing.
Analysis of Physical Demands:Constantly (over 66% of time) work performed requires employees to use repetitive hand motions such as typing, using a keyboard, and sitting at a desk.Frequently (34%-66% of time) work performed requires employees to handle and grasp things, walk on normal surfaces, stand and bend. Occasionally (1%-33% of time) work performed requires employees to drive to client appointments, have repetitive foot movements, walk on uneven or slippery surfaces to and from work and occasionally reach outward to grab things and bend.Rarely (< than 1 hour per week) work performed requires lifting/carrying items that range from 10-50lbs, pushing/pulling items that range from 10-50lbs, twisting/turning including reaching over shoulder or above head, kneeling or squatting.
