Your work environment at EXP

In this role you will be a senior member of our Project Controls team in the Major Projects Sector, be based in our Toronto or Ottawa offices, and lead our Project Controls functions on current and future projects across North America.

What a day at EXP has in store for you

Reporting directly to our Vice President, Project Controls, you will lead our Project Controls specialists working with EXP and its’ partners Project Managers, Design Managers, Construction Managers and Engineers to:Oversee project planning, scheduling, budgeting, change & risk management, cost estimating & control, forecasting, reporting and document management for assigned projectsWork with project teams to ensure alignment of the project forecast Estimate To Complete (ETC)/Estimate At Completion (EAC) for schedule and costEnsure maintenance and updating of project Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) and Cost Breakdown Structure (CBS)Lead the production of accurate internal weekly/monthly project reports. Interface with, and present to project and corporate management as requiredLead project planning and scheduling inputs into future proposals and pursuitsPrepare and present project planning and scheduling reports for Project Management and Client reviewLead the preparation of cost reviews and participate in project review auditsAnalyze, trend, and communicate project performance progress information to project personnel, including Earned Value reportingOversee project risk assessments and workshops to identify and mitigate risks related to potential impacts on scope, cost, and scheduleImplement effective Change Management processes on assigned projectsMonitor project total expenditures including verifying and checking of invoices and claims from subconsultantsEvaluate project contracts and commercial terms to ensure that the project controls processes are aligned to address any specific project needsUnderstand contractual language, ensure projects are contract and company compliant Ensure compliance with all applicable policies, procedures, and company standardsUnderstand internal and external pricing strategiesCommunicate proactively with clients, the project team, stakeholders, and project leadership, on matters relating to issues and variances that may influence project outcomes

What your experience looks like

Degree/Diploma in management or a related field  Project Management, Accounting & Finance qualification and/or accreditation Strong, proven understanding of management practices, in particular finance & accounting10+ years of major project experience holding commercial/financial/performance responsibilities5+ years of project controls experience for large multi-billion dollar transportation/infrastructure design-build projects Working with senior-level management team Experience with WBS, CBS, and assessment of Earned ValueSoftware knowledge: MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Power BI, Primavera P6 Effective oral and written communication skills Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborateSolid track record in managing, mentoring, and leading a team
