Mead & Hunt is currently looking for a highly motivated individual to join our Transportation team as a Senior Project Engineer in our Port Orange, Orlando, or Jacksonville, FL area/office locations. Responsibilities include: Planning and organizing the work of subordinate and staff members Developing and/or reviewing policies, methods, practices, and procedures Reviewing programs for conformance with client and industry standards Working with county and/or municipal governments and the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) Leading a project team through construction administration, funding coordination and construction inspection Coordinating team operations with the Department Manager or Business Unit Leader. Keeping up-to-date with relevant technical and management issues related to construction inspection Developing business opportunities Managing/mentoring staff Verifying quality and completeness of work Providing workload projections and resources to project managers, department managers or business until leaders Monitoring staff in project management services…data collection, quantity calculations, and inspections/testing related to soil density, concrete, asphalt, and earthwork Serving as an on-site project representative Verifying conformance with contract documents, QA/QC, and applicable standards Resolving and responding to field issues Some travel and a valid driver’s license will be required. The successful candidate must have the following: A bachelor’s degree (or higher) in civil engineering AND at least 6 years The ideal candidate will have any/all of the following: 8+ years of CEI project management/engineering experience Professional licensure in the state of Florida Experience working with the FDOT Experience developing new business opportunities FDOT inspector certifications Experience with project management Experience supervising and developing staff At Mead & Hunt we shape the future by putting people first.
