Senior Project Engineer, Electrical (f/m/x)

 

The job holder will join the “EIA Engineering” department, which is part of MCP’s project delivery organization. In this position, you will report to Divyang Chavhan, Head of EIA Engineering. 

This position is located in Oberursel, Germany.

What you'll do

Analyze project contracts, understand quality requirements, and identify risks and opportunities from a technical perspective. Develop engineering execution concepts and processes to meet project objectives and budgets. Coordinate electrical engineering efforts with specialty groups, clients, vendors, contractors, and other teams. Prepare inquiries, follow up on bids, and negotiate contracts for external engineering services. Support design and engineering teams to align activities with project delivery targets. Oversee and verify basic and detailed engineering work for internal teams and subcontractors. Collaborate with project management, engineering management, and client representatives. Develop optimized technical solutions to meet client needs and ensure Metso's technical leadership. Conduct engineering analyses and interpret technical drawings and specifications. Take responsibility for assigned equipment and technology throughout the project lifecycle. Implement quality control processes and conduct audits and inspections at engineering suppliers and manufacturers. Follow Metso’s operating model and update relevant processes within your discipline.

 

Who you are

Bachelor's or master’s degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent). Minimum of 8 years of experience in electrical detailed design engineering for international plant engineering and construction projects. At least 3 years of experience as a lead engineer. Expertise in electrical system studies using ETAP/EasyPower, including short circuit analysis, load flow, motor starting, voltage drop calculations, and relay settings. Experience with power systems up to 230 kV is preferred. Experience with equipment sizing, technical bid evaluation, and vendor document reviews for electrical equipment (e.g., transformers, switchgear, UPS systems, cables). Familiarity with 3D modeling software (AVEVA, S3D, Autodesk Revit) and participation in model reviews. Knowledge of electrical layouts (raceways, lighting, grounding) and related construction practices. Strong understanding of international standards and regulations. Proficiency with MS Office, AutoCAD, Visio, and document management systems like Blue Cielo MERIDIAN. Fluent in English; German language skills are an asset. Ability to lead in a matrix environment and work collaboratively with others. Willingness to travel for site visits and project meetings. High sense of responsibility, structured and goal-oriented working style.
