Senior Project Engineer

The Role

We are seeking a Senior Project Engineer to join our dynamic infrastructure team. As a key member of our project team, you will play a crucial role in the successful delivery of complex infrastructure works. You’ll bring proven experience in both design and construction, along with a solid background in infrastructure and earthworks.

This role reports to the Senior Project Manager and will see you working closely with on-site Supervisors, ensuring efficient and timely project delivery.

Along with being part of a collaborative and high-performing team, you’ll gain ongoing exposure to diverse projects, allowing you to further strengthen your technical expertise and project management skills.

 
Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and maintain project-specific documentation, including QSE plans, method statements, MDRs, registers, and schedules. Provide technical guidance to project teams and stakeholders, including advice on design, construction methods, modifications, and structural repairs. Assist in directing and monitoring construction, operations, and maintenance activities, ensuring alignment with drawings, specifications, and project milestones. Participate in and supervise surveying activities to ensure accurate layout and alignment of works. Support procurement processes, cost tracking, material estimation, and administer subcontractor and purchase order documentation in line with company standards. Implement and audit QA/QC processes, ensure inspection test plans are followed, and manage NCRs to maintain compliance and continuous improvement. Promote and uphold a strong safety culture, ensure compliance with safety standards, perform site inspections, and participate in incident investigations. Ensure environmentally sound design and construction practices, respond to environmental incidents, and manage compliance with regulations and company policies. Identify and mitigate risks to project safety, quality, schedule, and budget, using approved processes and controls. Track KPIs, schedules, resources, and forecast costs, and report to the Project Manager with progress updates and improvement recommendations. Identify and resolve technical and on-site issues using RFI/TQ processes and propose alternative construction methods where appropriate. Engage with internal and external parties professionally, ensuring clear communication and collaborative problem resolution.

The successful applicant will ideally have:

Bachelor of Civil Engineering or an equivalent qualification required. Previous experience in a similar role or sufficient experience with bulk earthworks and road infrastructure works. Previous involvement in Design and Construction projects Demonstrated experience in effective HSEQ management Electrical and mechanical infrastructure works experience (desirable) Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise with key stakeholders and clients. Demonstrated experience in effective HSQE management. Strong financial/commercial acumen. Ability to lead a team, influence key stakeholders, and maintain strong relationships. Ability to solve complex problems using logical rationale. Deadline-oriented and able to balance competing priorities, whilst working well under pressure. Willingness/ability to work in remote locations. Hold a current Construction Induction Card (White Card). Pass a pre-employment medical and D&A.
