What You'll Be DoingJob Scope: Generally responsible for being technical leader of projects as well as for project performance for the engineering team for an assigned area for all applicable phases of the project including cost, schedule and Client satisfaction. This work will be performed under minimal supervision.
Primary responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
Inform the Hargrove Project Manager of all technical issues, decisions, and problems encountered on project.
Manage Engineering Budgets and schedule including reporting responsibility.
Plan, schedule and forecast engineering resources to be employed on the project.
Coordinate with Client on technical design issues.
Ownership of project specific engineering and design procedures including obtaining proper approvals if deviating from Client or Hargrove procedures.
Primary coordinator of the documents which define the project scope (e.g. Scope & Criteria documents, P&ID’s, engineering item lists, etc.).
Primarily responsible for the recognition of scope changes as the project progresses including construction and multiple engineering disciplines.
For 3D modeling projects, responsible for regularly reviewing the model with a focus on gauging the level of inter-discipline coordination.
Responsible for leading Inter-Discipline coordination by resolving design issues among/between disciplines.
Responsible for reviewing all design deliverables with particular focus on inter-discipline consistency and adequacy of discipline reviews.
Responsible for ownership of muli-Discipline deliverables including: Line List, Equipment List, Area Classification Drawings, P&ID’s (assuring regular project review of master), General Arrangement Drawings, and Scope & Criteria Documents.
Responsible for managing project team resources and training.
Responsible for overall quality control of work.
Ideal BackgroundEducation: Bachelor or Master of Science degree in Mechanical, Chemical or Bio-Medical Engineering from an accredited university is required.
Registration: Professional Engineering and/or Project Management Professional (PMP) registration is highly preferred.
Experience: This position requires a minimum of 15 years of relevant experience in engineering and project management.
Knowledge of the Hargrove project execution procedures.
Knowledge and application of company business standards and good practices.
Knowledge and application of company engineering standards and project controls tools.
Demonstrated proficiency in complex project management.
Ability to lead a team to deliver on commitments.
A comprehensive understanding of the function of all engineering disciplines, procurement, and construction processes.
Ability to manage client relationships in complex situations.
Ability to relate easily to others in the business community such as customers, suppliers, contractors, government, professional and trade associations.
