SENIOR PROJECT ENGINEER
Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from a recognized university (higher degrees preferred). Membership in a recognized professional engineering and/or project management institution is a plus. Experience: 12+ years of relevant experience in engineering, project management, and execution of oil and gas projects. Proven expertise in: Managing and executing brownfield projects in resource and petrochemical industries. Pipeline and downstream fuel distribution projects, with experience in CNG stations as an advantage. Handling dense-phase CO? pipelines, process equipment, and mature field development, including Water Alternating Gas (WAG) injection schemes. Managing brownfield petrochemical refinery projects. Experience working as an independent client/owner representative, preferably with an IOC (International Oil Company). Skilled in engineering coordination across feasibility studies, concept optimization, FEED, and EPIC phases. Key Competencies: Expertise in managing the complete project lifecycle, including: Engineering definition, detailed design, and construction activities. Operational readiness, commissioning, and start-up processes. Development of project execution strategies, plans, and risk mitigation measures. Contract management, including handling variations and claims. Cost and budget management, scheduling, and resource planning. HSE risk identification and management. Strong leadership, communication, and team-building skills. Proficiency in report writing, presentation delivery, and effective meeting management. Your Responsibilities Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary project teams to deliver high-quality, onshore oil and gas projects. Develop and implement project plans covering execution, risk management, quality, HSE assurance, and stakeholder engagement. Oversee project activities such as cost control, budgeting, contract administration, and progress reporting. Resolve technical and engineering issues to ensure cost-effective and timely designs. Manage the tendering process, including preparation, evaluation, and recommendations to relevant committees. Maintain and update risk registers to ensure risks are identified, managed, and mitigated. Interface with end-users, government authorities, statutory bodies, and third-party entities like JVs. Handle contractor claims, variations, and ensure compliance with internal procedures. Participate in the review and development of organizational procedures and guidelines. Mentor and guide Qatari engineers in their professional development programs.
