Senior Engineering Manager

Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to be a design authority for an engineering discipline. Each day, you will complete assignments on multiple projects of moderate size or portions of major projects in a cost-effective manner. You will also showcase your expertise by ensuring assignments are completed in accordance with contract specifications, quality standards, safety requirements, and cybersecurity policies and standards.The work model for the role is: OnsiteThis role is contributing to the Process Automation Process Industries Division of ABB, Singapore supporting projects across Southeast Asia Region.You will be mainly accountable for:•\tProviding technical guidance and support to project teams and clients and collaborating on project installation, commissioning, and site activities. •\tWorking with the customer to shape and deliver solutions while seeking customer feedback to drive and deliver improvements.•\tCreating work plans and cost estimates for the portfolio of projects and ensuring quality, timely implementation within the targeted cost.•\tCoordinating with relevant functions to ensure the designs are appropriately manufactured / staged, tested, installed, and commissioned.•\tCoaching engineering colleagues on the translation of conceptual designs to engineering documentation, best practices, and lessons learned from past projects.

Qualifications for the role

You are skilled in metals process automation such as cold rolling mills, processing lines, wire rod and bar mills etc. Experience on electrical arc furnace and primary metals are added advantage. Degree in Engineering with a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role.Ability to demonstrate your knowledge of ABB’s automation system such as 800xa, AC800PEC and AC800M controllers, is an added advantage.You have good understanding and experience in preparing and supplying technical project documentation in accordance with customer requirements and specifications.Familiarity with relevant codes, international standards, client design specifications and procedures, and a thorough working knowledge of the latest design and analytical techniques.You are at ease communicating in English.
