Senior Project Engineer
Element Materials Technology
**Overview**
Element has an opportunity for a **Senior Project Engineer** that will be involved in mechanical / industrial product evaluation testing.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, setup and execution of multifaceted and complex physical testing projects including technical reporting and project development support. They will be involved in equipment commissioning including the planning / execution of these initiatives. They will ensure the integrity of our data and will quickly resolve any anomalies following defined quality procedures. They will ensure that all work is performed in accordance with company Health & Safety policies.
**Responsibilities**
• Involvement in test setup/fixturing, physical test execution, data collection & analysis.
• Involvement in project development and technical feasibility assessments.
• Formulate approaches, prepare methods, conduct feasibility studies and be involved in capital expansion initiatives.
• Conduct technical report writing.
• Coordinate equipment calibration per Element quality procedures.
• Purchase materials and maintain equipment as required.
• Typical test evaluation scopes: compression, tension, torsion, displacement, impact, shock, vibration and thermal exposure.
**Skills / Qualifications**
• Completion of a University Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology with P.Eng. designation is required.
• 15-20 years of experience (including supervisory experience).
• Strong foundation and practical experience in mechanics, hydraulics, data acquisition and control systems required.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Experience with common hand and power tools.
• Proficient in MS Office, AutoCAD, LabVIEW, MTS Controller Software/Interfaces.
• Conduct safe material handling per Element guidelines (crane and forklift operation).
• 2-3 years of prior sales/commercial development experience is an asset
