SENIOR PROJECT ENGINEER - responsible for overseeing and managing engineering and procurement projects from inception to completion. This role involves coordinating multi-discipline engineering efforts, managing project schedules and budgets, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations. The Senior Project Engineer will work closely with clients, contractors, and internal teams to deliver high-quality projects on time and within budget.
Employment Status: Independent Contractor (long-term employment)
Work Location: Vancouver, BC
Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement project work plans and schedules, and coordinate multi-discipline engineering efforts. Review and approve engineering designs and technical documentation, ensuring adherence to safety, environmental, and regulatory standards. Manage the installation phase of projects, monitor project cost, progress, and schedules, and address any issues or challenges. Adhere to quality control procedures, ensure compliance with industry standards, and promote a strong safety and environmental culture. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients, contractors, and internal teams, and manage client relationships for potential and existing projects.
Requirements: A related Engineering degree. P.Eng designation in BC or eligibility to obtain it. Minimum of 10 years’ experience in engineering and procurement projects, preferably in infrastructure, mining and energy. Proficiency in engineering software tools and project management software. Strong communication and team management skills. Knowledge of relevant industry standards and codes. Familiarity with safety and environmental regulations and best practices.
