If this sounds like an environment you would thrive in, we have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Project Engineer - Tech Lead supporting AP300 Power Plants. The Engineer will be responsible to verify quality and technical requirements for projects, products, and service deliveries from Westinghouse, from design phase to bid phase and through manufacturing. Evaluate new and existing suppliers as requested by the delivery stream office, interface with WEC engineering, scheduling, vendors and customer, plus reporting and managing multiple projects, supplies and opportunities for AP300, with possible support to other products within the Energy Systems Portfolio, primarily in the US and Canada, with potential support to other regions in the world. This role is mobile/hybrid with a preference for a candidate local to our Cranberry Township, PA HQ location.
Supplier Performance Senior Engineer is responsible for:
Personal, industrial, and nuclear safety as a fundamental part of their job
Main technical interface with internal and external stakeholders
Technical assessment of design status, maturity, evolution, challenges and opportunities for cost improvement from design simplification or standardization
Supplier Assessment:
Drive/Support Supplier Identification
Drive/Support completion of Supplier Audits and Technical Evaluations (as needed)
Drive/Support completion of NDA/PIA negotiations (as needed)
Lead RFQ package creation (i.e., draft requisition for RFQ including all technical and quality requirements)
Lead Supplier Design Proposal / Compliance Matrix reviews
Supplier Oversight:
Creating the Manufacturing and Process Plan estimates for use in design option selection or validation of cost and schedule.
Supporting technical witness and hold points with SPEs
Supporting the Delivery Stream management team to interface with Supplier Quality support, Engineering, Scheduling or BU organizations
Supplier Development & Management:
Lead Kick-Off technical meeting with chosen supplier
Conduct regularly scheduled meetings (e.g., bi-weekly, weekly, etc.) with Supplier and Westinghouse Project Support Team
Manage/Drive Westinghouse Project Support Team
Manage execution of required Witness and Hold Points
Hold pre-job briefs and/or kick-offs for important/critical PO manufacturing activities
Drive/Support PO Change Notices (as needed)
Provide Project Schedule Updates
Provide Customer Status Updates
Ensure all required PO scope is complete, including design, fabrication, testing and documentation.
Ensure the Westinghouse Quality Release (QR) has been completed.
Ensure the QR and associated Quality Assurance Data Package (QADP) have been archived in PRIME.
Send QR/QADP to the site or customer (as defined by the project) after it has been archived in PRIME to aid in receipt and turnover of equipment.
Work with Westinghouse Logistics to arrange for shipment
Who You Are:
As a successful candidate, you will bring the following to the team:
Bachelor Degree or higher in Nuclear/Mechanical/ Electrical/Civil/Power Engineering
Minimum 4 years applicable experience required; Experience preferred in the Power Industry but could be in any of the following industries: Oil & Gas, pipelines, refineries, offshore production platforms, and/or manufacturing plants; Desirable experience with: structural, mechanical, electrical, piping or I&C
Familiar with Manufacturing Capability assessment concept/Supplier technical evaluation.
Strong Technical Engineering acumen
Fluent in English
Willing to travel to support emergent project issues/supplier engagement/development (domestic and international)
Candidate must meet the criteria for access to the company’s, partners’ and clients ‘technologies
