Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to execute high-level ICS & Application Engineering deliverables on various national and international automation projects using ABB products and systems. You will interpret and analyze customer specifications and narratives and produce the control system to the system requirements.The work model for the role is: hybridThis role is contributing to the Process Automation Energy business / Design and Engineering in Madrid, Spain. Main stakeholders are Operations and Engineering group.• Providing technical solutions on time and within budget, working closely with project managers and engineers to identify key resources and taking ownership of allocated scopes• Training and mentoring new team members• Creating highly structured and maintainable applications, deliverables and documentation• Interacting with clients to interpret their needs and performing quality control on work deliverables• Reviewing engineering deliverables, monitoring compliance with standards, coordinating technical queries, assisting with technical sales presentations and producing engineering estimates for bidsYou will join a dynamic and talented team, where you will be able to thrive.

Qualifications for the role

A Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Automation/Industrial Engineering with focus on process automation across different industry sectors like Power generation, Chemical, Water, etc. 5+ years hands-on process Automation systems, particularly in application engineering, HMI engineering, 3rd party communication interfaces, FAT and SAT for process automation Excellent knowledge of DCS / ICS industry standards and specifications Experience in design, configuration, testing and commissioning of DCS/ICS applications Ability to work on multiple discipline projects Strong decision-making, leadership, time management and organizational skills Good working knowledge of Networks, IT/OT Systems and Cyber Security Good Understanding of common OT protocols such as Modbus, IEC104, OPC, IEC61850, etc. Experience with ICS systems like DCS/PCS, ESD and F&G Familiarity with ABB systems (800xA, Symphony Plus, SG400, AC400, AC800M, Infi90, AC500) or equivalent systems Engineer applications using IEC-61131-3 languages (FB, ST, SFC) Demonstrated experience to engineer, integrate, configure, test and validate ICS systems developed in an orderly and efficient way, applying knowledge and optimizing the solution to be installed Willingness to travel approximately 30% Spanish and English languages required; other languages are a plus
