About Us

 

Join our dynamic Engineering Projects team at BHP’s Central Pilbara hub, the largest operating iron ore hub in the world. At Central Pilbara Engineering (CPE) we are dedicated to developing innovative capital project solutions that drive our business forward. Our portfolio includes a diverse range of projects, with a strong focus on expansion initiatives across Mining Area C / South Flank and the evolving Yandi hub. Additionally, we work on safety and environmental improvement initiatives, sustaining operations, and decommissioning projects.

 

Location

 

You will be based at our Area C mine site in the Pilbara region of Western Australia, on a fly-in fly-out 5:2, 4:3 roster.  Our FIFO villages have a range of state-of-the-art fitness facilities including golf simulators, weightlifting, cycling and reformer equipment along with recreation facilities to help you relax and unwind after a shift. All rooms have their own ensuite bathroom, television, refrigerator and air-conditioning.
 

 

About the Role

•    Lead and deliver multiple complex capital projects, ensuring they are completed safely, efficiently, and within budget, scope, and schedule.
•    Provide expert advice on planning, scheduling, cost estimating, and control to project teams and stakeholders.
•    Utilize commercial acumen to manage contractors through design and construction.
•    Mentor and upskill junior team members to foster career development and team capabilities.
•    Provide in field support to improve safety culture and outcomes across site.
 

About You

 

•    Tertiary qualification in Project Management, Engineering, or Trade (desirable)
•    Proven Project Management experience in mining or heavy industry
•    Ability to work independently and with remote teams
•    High-level negotiation and influencing skills for liaising with stakeholders
•    Proactive problem-solving mindset for managing challenges
•    Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for effective stakeholder engagement
•    Proven leadership abilities
