Your role and responsibilities

We are looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager to join our team at Digital Solutions Operations at ABB Oy. This role can be located in Helsinki, Oulu, Pirkkala or Varkaus in Finland and is part of our Process Industries division. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled Senior Project Manager, who has nuclear energy experience and the ability to lead diverse teams and manage complex projects. In this role you will get to lead and manage large-scale nuclear energy projects, ensuring successful delivery on time, within scope, and on budget, while maintaining high safety and quality standards. The successful candidate will oversee our division's largest and most critical project upgrading a nuclear plant´s information management system including L1 & L2 controls. The role includes travel to project sites.ABB’s Industrial Software, focused on Process Performance, is a suite of solutions designed to automatically control and optimize all key plant units. Our PAPI Digital solutions, driven by ABB Ability™, offer high performance to enhance productivity, reduce costs, and improve visibility.You will be mainly accountable for:•Overseeing and coordinating a large team of skilled engineers from various disciplines, ensuring smooth collaboration and efficient execution of tasks across all project phases•Developing comprehensive project plans, including scope, schedule, and resource allocation, ensuring milestones are met and project deadlines are adhered to•Managing project budgets, tracking expenses, and optimizing resource allocation to maintain cost efficiency•Identifying potential project risks, including safety, technical, and regulatory challenges, and developing appropriate mitigation strategies•Engaging with key stakeholders, including clients, regulatory authorities, contractors, and internal teams, to ensure alignment on project goals and progress•Ensuring adherence to industry standards, regulations, and safety protocols, particularly in the nuclear sector•Participating in business travel to project sites, client meetings, or partner locations as necessary to ensure project progress and effective stakeholder communication•Providing regular project updates to senior management and clients, maintaining thorough documentation of project progress, issues, and key performance indicators (KPIs)

Qualifications for the role

Extensive experience in project management, with a significant focus on the energy sector; nuclear energy experience is highly preferredProven experience managing large, diverse teams of skilled engineers from various technical backgroundsExpertise in budget control, resource management, and financial forecastingStrong ability to manage risks and implement mitigation strategies for technical, safety, and regulatory challengesExcellent communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skillsFamiliarity with project management and financial management software (e.g., MS Project, Devops, SAP) and methodologies (Waterfall & Agile)A B.Sc. or M.Sc. degree in Electrical or Software Engineering or in another relevant field (PMP, PMI, or other relevant certifications preferred)Fluent written and spoken English language skills are required in the role, Finnish language skills are an advantage in the roleAbility and willingness to travel for business as required
