Senior Project Manager, Transportation Engineer

Role description:

Arcadis is seeking a talented Project Manager, Transportation Engineering for our dynamic Ottawa office. We are looking for a project manager with a background in road and transit projects in Ontario. Experience in some or all of Environmental Assessments, preliminary design, detailed design, transportation planning, traffic management, and traffic engineering would be an asset.

This role will entail the utilization of skills in leadership, business development and client interaction. As a Project Manager you will be asked to assist in growing and maintaining the business. Role accountabilities:

In this role, you will act as the Project Manager or Deputy Project Manager on transportation-infrastructure projects such as Class Environmental Assessments, TPAP, preliminary designs, detailed designs, intersection, or corridor improvement studies. You will be the Transportation Engineering task lead for large-scale projects and be responsible for the review of preliminary and detailed design drawings, reviewing and supporting report-writing (e.g. Environmental Study Report, traffic studies, technical reports), proposal writing. You will manage staff productivity and utilization, mentor staff and project teams, supervise staff and participate directly in the completion of projects. You will be expected to foster a spirit of enthusiasm and client focus, participate in client liaison, and lead and direct business development activities in Ottawa and GTHA. You will also coordinate projects between other design disciplines, management of project schedule and budget and participate in the management of the Transportation Group in the Ottawa Office.

Qualifications & Experience:

Bachelor’s University Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university 5+ years of Project Management experience  as well as 8+ years of Transportation Engineering Roadway preliminary or detailed design experience P.Eng. (Eligible for Membership with PEO) preferred Experience with City of Ottawa, MTO, Region of Peel, York Region, Durham Region and Halton Region are an asset Experience with preliminary and detailed design of intersections, arterial roads, highways and freeways (alignments, geometrics, staging, traffic management, roadside safety) Familiarity with AutoCAD, MicroStation, InRoads and Civil3D an asset  Understanding of traffic engineering principles Familiarity with Ottawa and/or GTHA market conditions, public and private sector client base in and around Ottawa/ GTHA Familiar with contract administration, construction inspection and preparation of reports

The salary range for this position is $94,694 - $149,540. The base salary represents Arcadis’ hiring range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as location, skills, experience, and qualification for the role.
