Our client located in Grimsby, ON is currently seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager, responsible for leading teams to deliver the project(s) that span across one or more business units. Manage resources, schedules, and financials and adhere to stage gate quality and SDLC control guidelines throughout the full systems development life cycle. This also includes management of issues, risks, and project change requests to ensure successful and on-time project delivery. Contribute to process improvement initiatives as it relates to improving project delivery.
The Senior Project Manager has the authority to run the project on a day-to-day basis. Verify that the project produces the required deliverables of quality, within the specified constraints of time and cost, and achieves the potential benefits defined in the business case.

Salary: $100k - $120k per year

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop project objectives and metrics, with the team, at the onset of new projects. Break-down each project into its component pieces, then day-to-day management of deliverables with internal and external stakeholders. Co-ordinate and provide leadership to the Engineering staff to ensure customer requirements are met. Provide pro-active leadership, design skills, and tools to identify and solve engineering design issues as required to achieve overall project success. Work with Engineering staff to design appropriate Acceptance Test Plans and methods of measurement. Use of Engineering design skills to determine solutions with the Engineering team for required scope change and determine cost and schedule impact. Drive the organization to define and meet customer expectations for quality, delivery, and product performance – achieve “flawless launch”. Serve as the lead in customer communications for key areas including timing, documentation, and overall project status. Manage change orders. Ensure the financial success of the project. Identify concerns that jeopardize profitability and seek opportunities for improvement. Re-assess schedule and cost targets regularly. Initiate corrective actions as needed. Document and monitor objectives to ensure countermeasures are initiated and unfavorable variances are corrected. Report weekly on the status of each project – schedule, cost, issues, and actions. Elevate issues as appropriate and get the support of senior management when needed to clear obstacles. Ensure individuals clearly understand the impact their roles have on the success of the project and provide them with appropriate feedback, be it positive or negative - Facilitate problem-solving sessions. Ensure records of key transactions with customers and suppliers are maintained, either in the project database or in the areas of the responsible departments. Work on specific projects as directed from time to time in support of the Senior Manager. Ability to travel between local worksites. National and international travel may be required depending on the projects assigned. RequirementsRelevant Post Secondary Education; CET or P. Eng an asset. Ten (10) years’ experience with the design & building of large, complex industrial equipment. Demonstrated experience of having developed and successfully managed a project from cradle to grave. Experience in Project management with demonstrated leadership in high-impact situations. Experience managing equipment installations an asset. Familiar with ISO9001 Quality Management Systems. PMP certification is an asset. Carry a class "G" or higher drivers license with the ability to provide a Valid clear driver's abstract within thirty (30) days of hire date. Ability to travel up to 25% of the year. A valid passport and the ability to travel without restrictions is required. Excellent client facing and internal communication skills. Excellent Contract Management experience. Functional leadership experience in an Engineering or Manufacturing role. Must have the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills. Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office. Team player and have a problem-solving aptitude.
