We are seeking a Senior-level environmental project consultant with over 12 years of experience in environmental due diligence within the environmental consulting field. Candidates should hold a BS/MS degree in geology, engineering, or an environmental-related field. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in obtaining Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA) No Action/No Further Action and No Association Determinations, Leak Site File Closure, vapor assessment/vapor mitigation, and other liability assurance letters for complex industrial properties in Minnesota. Experience with, and in-depth knowledge of, guidance documents for the MPCA’s Voluntary Brownfield Programs, including VIC & PBP programs and LUST programs, is essential. Candidates should be self-motivated, well-organized, collaborative, and capable of handling multiple projects of variable complexity simultaneously.
ResponsibilitiesConduct Phase I Environmental Site Assessments, including complex industrial sites.Perform Phase II Subsurface Investigations and Remedial Investigations.Engage in Leaking Underground Storage Tank programs.Utilize MPCA Brownfield Guidance Documents, including Vapor Assessments & Mitigation.Work extensively with MPCA VIC & PBP Programs.Assist with the preparation of environmental clean-up grant applications including DEED, TBRA, and ERF grants.Implement in-situ and ex-situ soil and groundwater remediation technologies.Apply vapor mitigation technologies.Prepare client proposals and project Scope of Work.Write project investigation reports, including Phase II Investigations, Response Action Plans (RAPs), Vapor RAPs, environmental cleanup grant applications, Limited Site Investigations (LSIs), and other due diligence reports.Manage multiple project budgets, schedules, and scopes as a Senior project manager.Provide clear options regarding due diligence associated with property transactions.Essential SkillsEnvironmental engineeringCivil engineeringExtensive experience with MPCA VIC & PBP ProgramsEnvironmental complianceSenior Project Management skillsAdditional Skills & QualificationsProficiency in MS Word and ExcelDesired proficiency in AutoCAD and GISExcellent client skillsAbility to rapidly and skillfully adjust to unexpected eventsWork EnvironmentThe position offers a flexible, hybrid work environment within a smaller firm that allows great flexibility and growth opportunities.
