The Schwab Technology Services (STS) Portfolio & Project Management (PPM) organization partners with Business and Technology Leaders to prioritize and execute technology work for strategic business sponsored initiatives, enhancements, as well as standard technology operations, production support, and technology enablement to ensure STS capacity is focused on the most important work for the company.
Project Managers are responsible for establishing and leading enterprise-wide, cross functional strategic initiatives. They lead a variety of different types of projects including launching new products and services, large-scale application development, systems integration, operational efficiency improvements, process reengineering, and infrastructure upgrades and deployments. We are currently transitioning to a scaled agile model, therefore this role will need both traditional project management, as well as scaled agile methodology experience.
Responsibilities:
Accountable for defining, planning, orchestrating, and delivering a given strategic initiative including business, operational, and information technology deliverables Ensures end results are of the highest caliber with a clearly articulated scope and quantifiable business benefit Directs large-scale, complex projects often involving multiple internal and external constituents and partners Directly manages all aspects of the project life cycle and oversees all phases of a project Rigorously manages scope to ensure commitments are achieved within agreed upon time, cost, and quality parameters Validates financial forecasts, cost assumptions, and provides on-going reconciliation of resources and other related project expenditures Works with resource managers to ensure that resource capacity planning is accurately forecast, and provides ongoing reconciliation of actual time spent against forecasts Defines and tracks project milestones while developing, maintaining, and reporting on an overall integrated delivery plan Handles risks and issues management for the project-level risks and interdependenciesPartners with Product Owners and Scrum Masters to track Agile development milestones and support Agile practices as needed Manages team relationships to ensure effective deliveryFacilitates problem-solving and resolves stakeholder conflict Teaches, coaches, and mentors team members to remove roadblocks and drive project executionWhat you are good at:

8+ years of project management experience, managing multiple large, complex and cross functional projects, with emphasis on product development, systems, and technical environments 8+ years of experience with project management tools and artifacts, including MS Project, Jira, Confluence, SharePoint, project budgets, change requests, status reports, etc.Demonstrated ability to mobilize and motivate teams, set direction and approach, resolve conflict, deliver tough messages with grace Proven experience with and understanding of various software development methodologies, including Agile/ScrumProven ability to quickly build relationships and earn the trust of sponsors and key stakeholders Demonstrated, applied experience establishing and delivering complex projects BA/BS Degree or equivalent experiencePreferred Qualifications:
Release Train Engineer experience, preferredScaled agile methodology experience, preferredBackground/experience in financial services industryPMP or PMI-ACP certificationWhat’s in it for you
