This position contributes to REI’s success by employing an extensive understanding of project management principles, methods, and techniques to produce a portfolio of world class complex omni-channel, marketing campaigns. The Senior Project Manager collaborates with all levels of the organization and utilizes a high degree of autonomy and influence to successfully orchestrate the end-to-end development of membership, brand, product and value campaigns and initiatives that ladder up to our annual marketing plan.

As both a strategic and operational partner, you are leading and orchestrating cross-functional teams through the full end-to-end project lifecycle including the planning, scheduling, monitoring, risk mitigation and issue resolution and reporting project status ensuring visibility of the team’s work to partner management. You approach obstacles with an entrepreneurial mind and unwavering aplomb that rallies the team to move work forward in a way that maximizes brand awareness and increases engagement, traffic, and demand while securing cost-saving measures for the company.
This position contributes to department process improvement efforts to expand and mature the capabilities of the organization, drive role clarity, standardize workflows, and improve resource efficiency and effectiveness.
**Responsibilities and Qualifications**
+ **Project team leader** : Accountable for motivating, mentoring, and coaching team members to meet project goals. Ensures accountability towards project milestones, provides clear direction to help the team navigate through ambiguity, and operates as the primary point of contact to resolve conflict, remove barriers, and address issues.
+ **Full project life cycle ownership:** Proactively manages the team and deliverables to ensure on-time delivery of a seamless customer experience that brings the strategy to life and elevates the brand. Drives accountability to scheduled milestones across the development of strategic inputs, channel plan, conceptual direction, proof of concept, asset creation, and execution.
+ **Milestone Preparation/Quality Assurance:** Ensures the work and team are prepared for upcoming milestones by pressure testing strategic alignment, validating prior feedback is addressed and project mandatories are met, and providing constructive feedback to advance the quality and fidelity of the work.
+ **Adaptability & Problem Solving:** Adept at navigating through ambiguity and uncertainties. Embraces change, encourages creative problem-solving and facilitates the team’s ability to adapt and respond effectively to evolving project needs.
+ **Risk and Issue Management:** Anticipate, monitor, track, and control project risks, issues, dependencies, and change requests to mitigate impact and safeguard successful delivery. As needed, escalates to secure timely resolution.
+ **Decision making:** Accountable for making and/or securing decisions, often under pressure, that influence outcomes on high investment efforts.
+ **Communication and Reporting:** Primary point of contact on assigned projects for both internal and external (agency and vendor) partners. Accountable for the development and delivery of regular project status updates to the project team, key stakeholders, divisional leadership, and VP Marketing that includes detail on upcoming project milestones, deliverables, dependencies, decision status, and any risks or issues.
+ **Documentation Requirements:** Responsible for developing and maintaining a project playbook that accurately reflects the state of the project, project schedule, stakeholder register, communication plan, and risk log.
+ **Meeting Management:** Schedules, facilitates, and recaps project meetings and decision-making discussions with crossfunctional stakeholders and leaders to promote decision adherence and ensure the work is on brand, on strategy, observes channel best practices, meets technical/proofing/legal requirements.
+ **Maintains current industry knowledge** and best practices relative to an omni-channel experience – website, email marketing, digital advertising, social media, print ads, in-store signage, catalogs, earned media, influencer and affiliate marketing, content marketing.
+ **Project Learnings:** Relies on data-driven insights, project outputs and outcomes to drive continuous improvement and inform business direction. Continually reviews ongoing projects for efficiencies in schedule, resources, and process to enable cross-functional partners to be successful.
+ **Technical Expertise:** Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio), SharePoint, and project management software (i.e. Workfront) to centrally house project requirements, schedules, documentation, and resource time tracking.
**Qualifications:**
+ Bachelor’s degree or PMP Certification
+ 7+ years working in a fast-paced, highly matrixed Marketing Operations PMO as a Senior Project Manager managing multiple concurrent complex omni-channel campaigns.
+ 7+ years working with creative teams including design, copy, production, and photo/video.
+ Skilled in Microsoft Office business applications: Excel, Visio, and PowerPoint.
+ Proficient in video conferencing tools (Teams preferred), working knowledge of Adobe suite.
+ Demonstrated experience with Marketing tooling such as Workfront, Smartsheet for portfolio & project planning, tracking, and reporting
+ Proven project team leader, builder, and motivator with exceptional influencing skills who can exercise judgement related to prioritization and risk management. Proficiency across all project phases (project planning, requirements, scheduling, kick-offs, approvals, deliverables, problem solving, issue resolution, monitoring, reporting etc)
+ Excellent knowledge and application of project management principles, practices, and methodologies with the ability to blend them together based on project requirements.
+ Demonstrated passion, knowledge, and understanding of trends and capabilities related to omni-channel marketing - website, mobile, email, digital advertising, social media, print ads, store signage, catalogs, earned media, influencer and affiliate marketing, content marketing.
+ Exceptional business acumen, critical thinking, problem solving, and organizational skills.
+ Problem-solving, conflict resolution, active listening, organizational and time management skills
+ Advanced communication skills across multiple disciplines. Able to clearly convey and accurately receive information via a variety of methods and situations. Inclusive of verbal, nonverbal, written, and presentation skills that foster effective relationships and collaboration at all levels of the organization.

**Pay Range**
$85,400.00 - $136,700.00 per year
