Senior Project Manager
**Introduction** The senior Project Manager leads and oversees large, long-range, and/or multiple complex projects, ensuring successful delivery within scope, budget, and timeline. This role requires a strong leader with extensive project management experience. The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for developing project plans, managing resources, mitigating risks, and fostering collaboration among cross-functional teams. This individual will also champion Agile principles and coach teams to maximize their effectiveness. **Your role and responsibilities** * Project Planning & Execution: Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope definition, detailed cost estimates, resource allocation, realistic schedules, communication strategies, and risk management plans. Proactively monitors project progress, identifies potential roadblocks, and implements corrective actions. * Leadership & Team Management: Provides leadership and direction to project teams, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment. Delegates tasks effectively, set clear expectations and provides regular feedback and coaching. Mentors and guides junior project managers and team members. * Stakeholder Management: Effectively communicates with stakeholders at all levels, providing regular project updates and managing expectations. Builds strong relationships with clients, users, and internal teams. Acts as a liaison between the project team and stakeholders, ensuring alignment and addressing any concerns. * Risk & Issue Management: Proactively identifies, assesses, and mitigates project risks and issues. Develops contingency plans and escalates critical issues to senior management as needed. * Financial Management: Manages project budgets and ensures cost-effectiveness. Tracks project expenditures and reports on financial performance. * Quality Assurance: Implements quality control measures to ensure project deliverables meet established standards. Monitors project performance against key metrics and drives continuous improvement. * Process Improvement: Contributes to the development and improvement of project management methodologies and best practices within the organization. Stays current with industry trends and emerging technologies. * Documentation & Reporting: Using IBM tools and systems to maintain accurate project documentation, including plans, reports, and meeting minutes. Prepares and presents project status reports to stakeholders **Required technical and professional expertise** * Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration) or equivalent experience. * Proven experience (typically 5+ years) in project management, with a focus on complex, large-scale projects. * Extensive knowledge of project management methodologies (e.g., PMI, PRINCE2). * Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. * Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities. * Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
