About our team  

Elsevier’s Science, Technology, and Medical, Journals (STMJ) division manages an extensive collection of 2000+ journals. The central Customer Experience & Innovation (CE&I) team within STMJ are experts in key strategic and operational areas, and together with our partners across the business, we identify, analyze, and respond to the needs of researchers and clinicians. We do this by combining deep data-driven strategic insights with innovative solutions. Our test-and-learn approach results in best practices allowing STMJ to develop trusted publishing venues and provide a smooth, effective, and collaborative customer experience. 

About the role 

We are looking for a Senior Project Manager to join our Customer-Centric Innovation Center of Expertise (CoE) in CE&I, who will be responsible for managing a portfolio of projects, ensuring everything runs smoothly and aligns with project goals while maintaining a high level of detail for each project. The role will support initiatives within the CoE’s strategic focus areas, driving forward innovation to serve our customers: researchers and clinicians. The Project Manager will play a key role in executing these innovation efforts and delivering meaningful impact.

Responsibilities 

Developing comprehensive project plans, outlining timelines and key milestones from ideation to the final decision on ideas/pilots

Monitoring project progress to maintain momentum and ensure alignment with established timelines

Monitoring, analysing, and reporting on project progress, promptly identifying and addressing any challenges that may arise

Proactively flagging issues, risks, and dependencies, facilitating timely resolution and minimizing potential disruptions.

Identifying potential risks and develop mitigation plans

Effectively communicating project updates and pivotal milestones to stakeholders, ensuring transparency and engagement.

Establishing and maintain relationships with stakeholders across the business

Requirements:

Proven experience in successfully managing projects, with a strong understanding of various project management methodologies and tools. Relevant certifications, such as PRINCE2 Foundation, PMP, Scrum, or IPMA, are a plus

Experience partnering with project stakeholders to resolve issues and to mitigate project impacts

Creative problem-solver that can envision and articulate solutions to issues

Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively, showcasing leadership in efficient project management

Strong interpersonal skills and a strategic approach to stakeholder engagement, enhancing overall project success.

Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal and presentation skills suited to the characteristics and need of the audience

Experienced in coordinating team collaboration within dynamic, deadline-oriented settings

Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to collaborative teamwork
