Job Summary:
Lubrizol is in the process of a medical device transformation to grow the business and is therefore seeking an experienced medical device project manager to lead transformation programs. In this role, you will report to the Operations Senior Director and will assist in developing a roadmap map for R&D new product development, manufacturing and strategic programs that align with the business. You'll collaborate with a diverse group of passionate individuals to deliver sustainable solutions to advance mobility, improve wellbeing and enhance modern life
You will be responsible for coordinating multi-disciplinary teams to implement and complete large-scale projects that align with the business strategy and goals for Lubrizol. This role is a unique blend of medical device life cycle management with early R&D engagement to manufacturing operations across various technologies.
Essentials Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for the coordination, implementation, control, and completion of projects, while remaining aligned with strategy, commitments, and goals of Lubrizol. Work closely with leadership in preparing business cases to support product line strategy and investments. Drive operating performance, lifecycle management and product roadmap planning. Launch global program playbook that standardized program management approach to product lifecycle management from R&D early engagement, manufacturing transfer, sustaining, change controls, communication planning, resource/risk mitigation, budget, and technical service. Coordinate new product launches, manage R&D Stage gate reviews with cross functional teams, key stakeholders and reporting KPIs and metrics thru establish governance. Work closely with the commercial team on intake process, vetting of potential projects, initial chartering, lead intake team review and tracking of approved programs to completion. Be the change agent for continuous improvement to systems, process, tools and people training. Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; gathers and analyzes information skillfully; develops alternative solutions; works well in group problem solving situations Promote use of project management and lean tools to drive improvements to overall performance, schedule attainment and accountability. Manage product transfer projects both in coordination with manufacturing sites and as a separate project. Manage project teams with agile project management and smart execution, ensuring on-time & within budget project completion by communicating status, risk mitigation and escalation measures. Drives the use of project management and lean tools with training to improve bench strength across the business. Communicate and escalate risks that could impact objectives and deliverables. Provide risk/reward trade-off to business groups for decisions. Other duties as assigned.
Skills, Qualifications, Experience:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in engineering or program management Minimum 10 years of combined business and Operations/Manufacturing experience Proven track record of project management experience Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, outlook, teams, and SharePoint, MS project) Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong facilitation capability Exceptional critical thinking skills, detail oriented, proactive in follow-up and follow through Ability to be organized, problem solve, and be solution oriented Operates on a high level of initiative and creativeness, requiring minimal supervision. Proven ability to prioritize multiple projects and meet delivery dates in a fast-paced customer manufacturing environment.
Considered A Plus:
Program management certification. PMP Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt preferred Strong ISO13485 quality knowledge VSM, DMAIC, Operational Excellence, Kaizen knowledge GMPO and Medical Device process validation knowledge
Working Conditions:
Primary office location of Brecksville, OH 25-50% domestic and some international travel to Lubrizol locations Must be willing/able to work in a plant environment, and have the ability to wear all required PPE necessary to tour facilitiesReady for your next career step?
