As a Senior Project Manager in our heavy civil construction firm, you will lead large-scale infrastructure projects, focusing on heavy highways and bridges from start to finish. This role combines strategic oversight with hands-on management to ensure project delivery on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You’ll drive project performance, develop actionable plans, and collaborate with key stakeholders to meet operational goals.
Key Responsibilities: Project Leadership: Oversee construction projects for highways and bridges, ensuring compliance with schedules and budgets. Strategic Insight: Provide expert recommendations for planning, reviews, and decision-making on major infrastructure initiatives. Action Planning: Develop and implement detailed project plans with a focus on civil engineering complexities. Problem Resolution: Anticipate and address project challenges, deploying effective solutions to mitigate risks. Task Management: Delegate tasks to team members, including Project Coordinators, Superintendents, and support staff. Performance Tracking: Monitor and assess project progress, aligning with both immediate and long-term objectives. Client Communication: Prepare and present comprehensive project updates for clients and internal teams. Team Coordination: Partner with the General Superintendent to synchronize efforts and manage project obstacles. Financial Oversight: Approve field timesheets and invoices weekly, ensuring precise financial tracking. Change Management: Manage change orders and adjust project scope and plans as necessary. Leadership Development: Cultivate team leadership to enhance project management effectiveness. Skills and Qualifications:
Proven experience in managing large-scale civil construction projects, with a focus on highways and bridge construction.
Strong leadership, team coordination, and strategic planning skills.
Excellent problem-solving capabilities and the ability to effectively delegate and monitor tasks.
Experience in developing project plans and managing financial documentation.
Familiarity with Viewpoint, B2W, and HCSS software is preferred.
