Job Summary: Manages and coordinates large and/or complex capital projects through all phases of design, permitting, and construction, equipment planning, and move management. Manages and supervises in move management equipment planning and third-party project managers / developers. Experience in building and leading multiple, simultaneous design & construction teams that includes at least 8 to 20 design & construction professionals (including but not limited to: architects, mechanical engineers, electrical engineers, plumbing engineers, civil engineers, structural engineers, geotechnical & environmental engineers, industrial hygienists, way finding signage consultants, interior designers, move managers, furniture consultants, artwork consultants, contractors, subcontractors, material & equipment vendors, and third party testing agencies) at varying levels of professional development. Thorough knowledge of construction terminology, procedures, and policies. Considerable ability to communicate effectively with hospital personnel and physicians. Considerable ability to manage and motivate people. Ability to view construction services in health system context and meet customer needs accordingly is required.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Planning, Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management or a related field from recognized college or university with a minimum ten (10) years of related professional experience in healthcare design, construction management, renovation, capital, and space planning, is required with experience in healthcare design, construction management, renovation, capital, and space planning including the development of program scope, design and budgeting of health care projects, preparation of bid documents and specifications, contract administration, and fiscal management construction management experience required. NC General Contractors unlimited License is required; Certified Healthcare Constructor Certification is required; At least five years’ experience in hospital construction as a project manager or supervisor; OSHA (10) hour course; Knowledge and ability to use email, Microsoft Project, Excel, Word, CAD, Revit, Navisworks and Ability to communicate through formal written process as well as face to face with departments, contractors, governing agencies and Senior Leadership. Valid driver’s license.
