Senior Project Manager (P&C insurance )
Position Description:

We are Canada's largest independent information technology services firm, and after 45 years, we're still growing! Join us as a "Senior Project Manager".

This role is hybrid and requires you to be at our client location in Markham for minimum 2-3 days per week - subject to change at any time.

You are a highly motivated Senior Project Manager who can drive Delivery in alignment with the organization mandate and goals. You are strong in project management practice and possess both business and technical acumen. You support the team and work to achieve results within the constraints of budget, schedule and scope. You are a leader, an influencer, a team player and a collaborator.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

• Project Planning: Develop integrated project plans, including scope, timelines, budgets, and allocation of resources.
• Team Leadership: Lead project teams, including internal and external partners, ensuring alignment with project goals and objectives.
• Risk Management: Guide and support the team to identify potential project risks and develop mitigation plans to ensure successful project delivery.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Champion strong relationships with clients, vendors, and team members to improve collaboration and project success.
• Communication: Maintain clear and open communication channels with project partners, providing regular updates and reports.
• Scope Management: Work closely with the business to baseline and monitor project scope and activate change requests as needed.
• Financial Management: Produce cost models, maintain budgets and expenditures, making vital adjustments to stay within budget.
• Quality Assurance: Ensure project deliverables meet quality standards and best practices.
• Governance: Maintain project documentation, including project plans, status reports, and other artefacts.
• Problem Solving: Identify and resolve project issues and obstacles to keep projects on track.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

Must have:

1. P&C insurance domain knowledge and Guidewire PM experience are preferred
2. Experience dealing with Executive stakeholders
3. Navigating through heavy Project delivery governance framework
4. Strong Financial acumen for managing projects north of 10MM.




• Project management certification (e.g., PMP) an asset
• Experience as a Project Manager with at least 7 years’ experience managing projects with large budget, complex solutions.
• Excellent leadership, communication, management and interpersonal skills
• Ability to run effective project meetings, workshops and/or other forums as needed.
• Ability to work with stakeholders at different levels including executives.
• Ability to work with and coordinate cross functional teams including vendor partners
• Ability to support, influence and negotiation project decisions through priority and data
• Knowledge of different project management methodologies
• Insurance background an asset but not mandatory
• Strong analytical skills and ability to navigate complex scenarios.
• Proficiency in MS Project, Microsoft Suite(Excel, PowerPoint, Word),Teams and SharePoint
• Proficiency in JIRA and Confluence
