This position is responsible for providing all aspects of engineering for water/wastewater utility projects for public, private and municipal utility district clients. In addition to leading a team of engineers and technical professionals, this position will also be actively involved in professional associations and community organizations as Pape-Dawson continues building partnerships within the community we serve.

Responsibilities Prepare proposals, budgets, and client agreementsLead and oversee design and technical aspects of the team(s) projects including detailed engineering design and calculations, report writing, permitting, and presentations to clientsWrite responses to client RFQs and SolicitationsDevelop and maintain professional relationships with clients, public agency officials and community leadersCoordinate and monitor project tasks, budgets, and schedulesParticipate in the development of company design and production standardsPrepare of reports and bond applications for municipal utility districtsAttend monthly board meetings for municipal utility districtsDirect and manage the implementation of a project including coordination with project stakeholders, consultants, contractors, and other external and internal parties to achieve project milestonesEnsure compliance with the company’s Quality Assurance policies and proceduresOversee and manage construction phases of projects to ensure works are completed in accordance with the contract documents, on time and budgetParticipate in professional associations and civic organizations within the community Qualifications Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering from an ABET accredited college or universityProfessional Engineer (P.E.) designation in the State of Texas, or the ability to obtain registration within 6 months15 or more years' experience managing substantial water and wastewater projects from conception to completion10 or more years’ experience managing municipal utility district clientsKnowledge of potable water treatment and wastewater treatment a plusKnowledge of local codes, development processes, and utility regulationsExtensive knowledge of design and construction practices for waterlines, storage tanks, pump stations, wastewater lines, lift stations and force mains. Demonstrated ability to manage projects and deliver on time and within budgetProven ability to effectively communicate, both oral and written skillsProven ability to develop and maintain professional relationships with clients, municipal utility districts, public agency officials and community leadersProven ability to lead a team of engineers and technical professionalsActively involved in professional associations and civic organizations
