Senior Property Accountant
Description We are seeking a Senior Property Accountant to join our team in the Horsham area, Pennsylvania. In this role, you will be responsible for understanding and applying GAAP Accounting Requirements in the real estate and property industry. You will be expected to analyze and interpret financial data related to property accounting, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant standards and regulations. Responsibilities: • Analyze financial statement fluctuations based on major categories and identify potential risks and issues • Prepare monthly balance sheet work papers and identify issues with any setup that may not accurately reflect unique situations • Review income statements to detect potential risks and provide guidance to property accountants • Ensure accurate and efficient CAM reconciliations and confirm the company is being reimbursed for expenses as allowed by each lease • Conduct 90 days true up for terminated tenants and interpret complex recovery setups • Collaborate with the billing team to correct all accrued income/billing errors • Review purchase order coding over a certain amount and take on additional projects as necessary to support the continuous growth and development of the company • Research and provide guidance on exceptions report provided by outsourced partner to allow for timely cash posting • Understand basic real estate verbiage, including but not limited to: Gross Up, Expense Cap, Base Year, Pro-Rata Share, Weighted Occupancy, and Leakage • Use Yardi Property Management and Yardi Software for various property accounting tasks. Skills: • Proficiency in using Yardi Property Management and Yardi Software • Knowledge and experience in CAM Reconciliation • Expertise in Property Accounting. Requirements • Must possess a minimum of 3 years of experience in the Real Estate & Property industry • Extensive knowledge and experience in Property Accounting is necessary • Proficiency in Cam Reconciliation is a mandatory requirement for the role • Familiarity with Yardi Property Management software is essential • Expertise in using Yardi Software for managing property accounts is expected • Candidate must hold relevant qualifications in accountancy or related field • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail are required • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are necessary • Must be able to work independently as well as part of a team • Strong organizational and multitasking skills are necessary • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, is expected.
