The Sr. Property Administrator will be responsible for handling all aspects of the daily Accounts Receivable functions for a portfolio of Office, Retail and Parking. Primary responsibilities will include collecting and depositing the rent from tenants, applications in the system, reconciliations, handling delinquent accounts, and supporting month-end financial reporting functions. The ideal candidate has extensive real estate management experience and is a strong communicator with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.Job Description
Keys Tasks & Responsibilities:
Manage all collection of receivables and input in the accounting software systemFollow-up with delinquent tenants and report to General Manager and Specialty Leasing Manager on a weekly basis.Preparing reports and commentary on outstanding amounts for ownership.Act as the lead contact for tenants for all matters relating to Accounts ReceivableIssue rental notices and preparation Tenant Statements of Account for arrears.Distribution of yearly tenant adjustment billings and ensuring accuracy.Support revenue accounting with new tenant set ups and required site forms.Review of the Rent Roll on monthly basis, and monitor new tenant profiles to ensure billings are accurate.Assist other administrative team members with tenant chargebacks.Maintain tenant files and contacts for seamless communication.Ensure tenant compliance with submittance of audited sales.Support the revenue accountant in calculating, compiling and issuing percentage rent invoices for those tenant paying alternate or breakpoint rent, including ensuring tenant compliance with sales reporting requirementsAssists in budget preparation and monthly reporting requirements including Executive Summary and variance commentary.Complete other tasks as required by the General Manager.Skills & experience required:
The successful candidate will possess:
Accounting Experience – preferred 5 – 7 years’ experience in a Property Administration or Accounts Receivable role in a Real Estate Management environment.Experience in Retail Real Estate specifically is highly desirable.College or University degree in Accounting, or a related field, is ideal but not required. An equivalent combination of experience and education will be considered.Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, EXCEL and SharePoint)Proficient with Yardi accounting platform is desired, experience with alternate program such as MRI may be considered in lieu.Strong communication and organizational skillsExperience collecting delinquent accounts and dealing with difficult customers.Be self-motivated, diplomatic and able to work independently.Flexibility to meet tight deadlines, requiring additional hours as necessaryMaintain a high level of confidentialityMust be able to provide Criminal Clearance CertificateCushman & Wakefield is committed to equity in employment and our goal is to have a diverse, inclusive, and barrier-free workplace.
