The Senior Property Tax Associate will be a contributing member of a tax department that is organized to provide research, expertise, recommendations, and resolutions in complex areas such as compliance, consulting, and planning.  The position will report directly to a Tax Manager and have an opportunity to engage in a growing, collaborative, and encouraging work environment; as well as demonstrate personal strengths as a tax professional.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES, other duties may be assigned.

Prepare and review, as needed, state and local property tax filings; business licenses; tax bills; real estate notices and extensions

Prepare and review quarterly budget reforecasts and monthly accruals for property taxes for each location

Year-end tax planning and reporting, including inventory and personal property planning

Conduct tax research, assess regulatory compliance, and manage projects as they are assigned

Ability to meet monthly, quarterly and annual goals, targets, and deadlines

Demonstrate attention to detail and a capacity to manage shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment

Deliver effective communication with third-parties on the Company’s behalf and other departments within QTS

Assist with general administrative functions of the Tax Department

Knowledge and understanding of state and local reporting requirements

Ability to work independently and within a team environment

Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interface with all levels of the organization

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s Degree required

Three or more years of relevant tax work experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

CPA Certification

Masters Degree in Taxation or Finance

CMI Designation

Three or more years public accounting experience with Big 4 or large regional accounting firm

Experience in preparing property tax returns and bill payments

Proficient in and/or working knowledge of Excel, Alteryx, Smartsheet, itamlink (or similar), PTMS and tax research platforms (or other similar tax solutions)

Strong knowledge of the property tax process throughout various states and jurisdictions
