Senior Protection Program Manager

Our Global Security Executive Protection Services team is looking for a highly motivated and talented professional to take a program management role in an industry leading protection program. As Senior Protection Program Manager, you will get the opportunity to work with industry-leading security and intelligence professionals who drive Microsoft Global Security and Executive Protection Services at the cutting edge of corporate security programs. This critical role will manage multiple programs critical to the success of the Executive Protection Services team. This role will also manage relationships with key partners and stakeholders from across the company and our global locations as well as managing technically based projects. To be successful, you are required to have a solid understanding of operations management principles, intelligence, protective operations and strategy with a principled approach towards managing culture and transformation. **Responsibilities** **What You Need for Success:** + You need to be a self-starter and change leader with a growth and innovative mindset with experience in driving transformation at the operational level. + You enjoy solving complex problems and are comfortable working in an ambiguous and undefined space. + You’re able to project your position and authority in a positive and professional way within the corporate environment. + You create clarity, generate positive energy and drive success. + You thrive in a fast-paced operational environment which requires effective leadership. + You are someone who leads by example and fosters an open work environment where cross-collaboration, inclusiveness, and diversity are valued. **What You'll Do:** + Provide close protection during public appearances, meetings, and events globally. + Develop and implement complete security and logistical plans for domestic and international travel and appearances by leaders, executives and others. + Manage and oversee security personnel assigned to executive protection duties. + Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and company policies. + Develop and document close/executive protection strategies, processes, and practices. + Manage and lead the implementation of the protection program strategy to ensure timely, effective, and relevant intervention for our executive clients. + Provide protection and safeguarding-related technical assistance and capacity strengthening support for staff and partner organizations to enhance program quality and impact. + Develop and maintain relationships with local law enforcement partners, security, and life safety practitioners relevant to the strategic outcomes of the protection program. + Implement Executive Space Security Design Requirements. + Ensure alignment and strategic integration with other Program Managers. + Support strategic budget forecasting and operational budget management. + Provide regular briefings. + Coordinate training. + Manage/maintain team assets and equipment. + Embody our culture (https://careers.microsoft.com/v2/global/en/culture) and values (https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/about) **Qualifications** **Required Qualifications** + 5+ years experience in Security Program or Program Management or related field **Other Requirements** + Current passport and driver's license. + Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: + Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter. **Preferred Qualifications** + Physical Requirements: + The ability to lift 60 pounds regularly. + The ability to safely climb stairs while carrying 40 pounds. + The ability to move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces. + The ability to identify and respond to dangerous situations. + The ability to respond quickly and appropriately to sound. + Adaptability to different physical environments and weather conditions. + B.S./B.A. degree required or equivalent industry experience. + 7+ years of security program/project management experience in a corporate/private setting with a proven track record of success in driving business outcomes. + Successful completion of a recognized Executive Protection Course. + Successful completion of a recognized Tactical/Evasive Driving Course. + A certificate in physical security such as Certified Protection Professional (CPP) or Physical Security Professional (PSP). + Emergency Medical Response (EMR) certification. + Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)/Automated External Defibrillator (AED)/First Aid certification. + Proven planning, organizational, time management and judgement skills. + Documented experience providing close protection internationally. + Record of industry involvement (associations, memberships, etc.). + Operational thinker and problem solver with proven analytical and reporting skills. + Proven communication abilities to drive and maintain credibility, generate trust, and form alliances with internal and external stakeholders and partners. + Proven communication and interpersonal skills with a proven ability to transfer knowledge and inspire a growth mindset. + Broad understanding of the corporate security industry. + Knowledge of and ability to use the full range of MS (Microsoft Corporation) 365 Office suite of products. + Knowledge of specific security systems (ex. Lenel, Everbridge, etc.). + Proven experience building and leading diverse small to mid-sized teams. + Experience with business process optimization and complex change program execution. + Consistent record of bringing agile program management methodologies to drive complex projects with quality and timeliness. + Proven experience working in Public/Private Partnerships. + High degree of flexibility and ability to travel up to 40%. Security IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $115,000 - $200,300 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $146,200 - $219,200 per year.
